      Its not even much of a gamble at that point. Just by counting and looking forward, Hayward knows no one is headed to the flat. The only person who can get near that is a shallow cross from the other side of the field. That receiver will bring a defender with him, probably trailing. So even if Hayward gets TOO deep, he can still bracket that shallow crossing receiver by closing forward, forcing him to choose even wider and OOB or breakdown to put a move on Hayward and get clocked by the trailing defender.
