Scott Pioli's disappointing tenure as general manager with the Kansas City Chiefs is over after four seasons and a 23-41 record. Does this move pave the way for Andy Reid in K.C.?

Andy Reid is the new coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. The team on Friday confirmed earlier reports of a deal being agreed upon with the ex-Philadelphia Eagles coach.

" It's not hard to see why Kansas City was attractive to Reid. The team had five Pro Bowlers despite a two-win season. They play in a weak division with a strong fan base and an ownership with a history of respect in the league. Most importantly, they can offer Reid what they offered Pioli: Control.
Reid will be able to shape the organization in his image. He is expected to bring a general manager or personnel director that he's familiar with so they can work together in lockstep. But make no mistake: Reid will be in charge.
It's not surprising that Reid got a job quickly, even though you could argue he did less with more talent over the last few years than any head coach in the league. Reid looks like a coach that was in desperate need of a fresh start. He brings an entire organized way of doing things to Kansas City with him. You aren't just hiring Reid, but an entire philosophy." Surprised Reid opted not to take a year off after what happened to him last year. Guess some folks just love coaching.
Wouldn't be surprised if Reid hires Brett Favre to coach the qbs.

You'd think the experiment of the HC having a lot of say over player personal would be over. Some really notable failures, like Sherman here and Holmgren in Seattle. Both had short term success, but couldn't sustain it. I think Reid himself had a lot of say in Philly, and I'm sure there are other examples, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...
Not sure about the Reid hiring. He has coached the "Dream Team" the last two years and done nothing.
Seems like the NFL is constantly evolving. The older coaches are set in their ways and the up-and-comers figure them out and change the game.
Even the Giants coach is in the "going to get canned" pile every couple of years.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

The NFL game is constantly morphing into something different. Jon Gruden made this comment one night on MNF. He said words to this effect:
That the style of play of RGIII would change the way derfensive coordinators set their defenses going forword.
I don't see that at all. He's a unique talent, and it's not like there's going to be another guy in this year's draft that can do what he does. Guys like him come along, and give DC's nightmares...but there just aren't a lot of them out there. The ones I remember are Cunningham and Vick. Both of them had big arms and could make silly throws as well. Vick takes grief for his accuracy, but I've seen him and Cunningham make throws across their body to the opposite sideline.
To a lesser extent Steve Young, but he was more of a scrambler as opposed to taking off for yards IIRC.

I love the way that RGIII hides the ball. I swear sometimes he looks like a magician. Defences often have 'no idea' where the ball is.

Whole lotta rumors now that Dorsey is headed to KC with a connection to his wife (she works for a firm based in KC).
But his first interview is with the Jets.
KC screwed up by saying reid has final say over all things related to football. the wording, according to PFT, means that dorsey wouldn't be able to just go to KC because it wouldn't be a promotion. in that case the packers could block it
if KC or another team were to say they wanted dorsey to be the GM with final say over all things football, then it would be a promotion and he could walk
KC may have screwed themselves with the wording of the reid hire
