  • I like the Lacey pick. It would be nice to have teams respect the run game for a change. I'm pretty excited about a Lacey-Harris one-two punch. If he could shed 10 pounds he might pick up some more speed that would be very useful in the pros. Overall, I think this will turn out well.
    Draft Brandin Cooks WR OSU!

      • Nassib, who was supposed to go #8 to Buffalo, still on the board going into the 3rd round! The Bills played that one well, everyone was going the wrong way.

        • Just remember, if you were slagging Geno Smith for thinking he would leave New York lat night, Eddie Lacy did leave last night.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yep...they played it really well. So well that they took a guy who would've been available right now in the 1st round.
It's such a GOOD feeling...13 TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

After dumping saine and prob won't bring back cedben. I was fine with 2 or 3 rd pick for rb. Glad lacy was there.
Lacy needs to do less dancing and just hit the hole.

              • I don't second guess Ted.

I trust the coaching staff to develop the picks.

It's providing a big need and how can that be too bad.

We had need ... an obvious need I felt at RB A mail carrying power back. A back that can run-run-run the ball. My next priority need was at SS.... followed by 3-4 LB, Tackle (OL) and that followed by SS ILB.

What's bugging me is I hope that TT didn't get taken as that trade down was worth 58 Pts. So far all I see is an additional 6th at Pick #176 that's worth 'only' 21 Pts.

The San Fran 49ers owe the Green Bay Packers, a top third of the 5th Rd. pick.

GO PACKERS ! GO Ted GO !

                  • I can't begin to fathom what TT is looking at... The problem with the running game is the OL, and McCarthy's absolute refusal to incorporate some power running plays.

12 carries for a 3.8 yard average is what Ted just drafted - and it certainly won't be Lacy's fault either.

                    So 12 x 3.8 x 16 = 730 yds

We had 9 rushing TD's last year, but Rodgers had 2 of them - so let's give the remaining 7 TD's to Lacy.

TT just spent a 2nd round pick on 730 yds and 7 TD's.

I really didn't think Ted would be dumb enough to do this... so I never really considered this possibility.

                    Just wow

                    • Man. I whooped it up when I heard we picked up Lacey. Like, literally went Aww yeah! and pumped my fist. And scared my fiancée while she played Mario. Then she told me she like dar-tone whatever cause he said he wanted to play here. I digress. I think We got late first round, early second round talent here. I think we drafted the best player on the board by far.
                      - Once again, adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Lacy has been very well coached at Alabama.

                        • I am ready to post "Is it legal to run past LBs in this game?" about 15 times a game next season in the Game Day thread.

                          • Think about Lacy... how bummed out does he have to be??

Doesn't go in the 1st round, and then he goes to RB Siberia?? Merrill Hoge was screaming for the Packers not to take Lacy, in his words, "... such a waste".

Yes the oline is still somewhat of a mess, but a good running back makes a difference as well.
