The official free agency period for the 2013 NFL season is less than 24 hours underway, but it may already be affecting the winner of the 2014 Super Bowl.

Below are the (updated) consensus 2014 Super Bowl betting odds for every NFL team, according to Las Vegas casinos.

New England Patriots 6/1 (This was before Wes Welker jumped to the BRONCOS)

San Francisco 49ers 7/1

Denver Broncos 8/1

Seattle Seahawks 8/1

Green Bay Packers 10/1 (No FA moves to date)

Houston Texans 15/1

Atlanta Falcons 17/1

Pittsburgh Steelers 18/1

New York Giants 18/1

New Orleans Saints 19/1

Baltimore Ravens 20/1

The odds makers certainly don't like what happened to the Raven's roster this offseason! Those are some pretty long odds for the defending champs, especially when you compare them to the 49ers. Atlanta also getting no love, while NE, who just lost their top receiver are the favorites! In Belicheck someone trusts...

No matter though, this is just another version of the off season paper championship.

It's easy analysis to understand why the Baltimore Ravens odds to win the next Super Bowl fell off dramatically so far in this off season and especially so over this past week and the opening of Free Agency. The LINK above, tells me that since they won the Super Bowl their odds have fallen off from 14/1 to 22/1. Baltimore is losing many key elements from the team roster that earned that last Super Bowl victory and not filling those holes.

We have seen the top teams make key moves to strengthen this week. Denver, San Francisco and Seattle have made significant moves and such has been recognized by Vegas. New England has fallen off the top perch. Denver (7/1) is predicted by 'Vegas' to play San Francisco (7/1) in Super Bowl XLVIII.

It may be noted that the Packers odds slipped from 10/1 to 12/1 over the course of this opening week of Free Agency. It also may be noted that our position fell from 5th to T-5th with the Atlanta Falcons; who's odds improved dramatically this week from 17/1 to 12/1.

The San Francisco 49ers may have moved to the top of the class, with the fortunate acquisition of WR Anquan Boldin from the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. In doing so they 'only' gave up a 6th round pick. I shake my head, in terms of just how fortunate that move appears for the San Fran 49ers. Anquan Boldin was a tour de force in the Ravens climb to the Super Bowl title this past season. Maybe the most dominant reason that Super Bowl win was possible.

Good. Given how long winter is lingering this year, we don't need to give it a boost of hell freezing over next year.

I misread that as saying "BOLDIN HAPPY TO BE IN NFC"

to which my response was going to be "WHY?"

But, yes, corners in the AFC should be pretty happy with his departure.
