  • Surprising players who are still FAs

Who are the players that you are surprised are still FAs?

A couple of guys I didn't think would last as long as they have in FA...

James Harrison - he still had 6 sacks last year. Ya, he's got an attitude problem and some injuries, but has he fallen off that much? Pittsburgh has apparently told him they are not interested. I guess you lump Dwight Freeney and John Abraham in with him.

Woodson - I think he's lost a lot, but figured he'd get looked at for name alone.

Nate Clements - a sign of how much the value of CBs has dropped after such a hot commodity the last few years. Asomugha too, but I'd guess his problem is asking for too much $$$.

Austin Collie - injury concerns again.

Nick Barnett - led the Bills in tackles last year, I think he's still capable

Sedrick Ellis - reminds me of Pickett at the point the Pack signed him...young, highly rated DT that underperformed for the team that drafted him, but still showing promise.

Andre Smith - how has he not been signed yet?

Door Wide Open for Free Agent Andre Smith to Return to Cincinnati Bengals

RE: CB >>> S Nate Clements >>> See Charles Woodson.

He's been a good player but it seems that age has caught up to him:

Nate Clements made the transition into safety, but has struggled against the run. His playing time is thus decreasingly lately, with Chris Crocker’s increasing.

Freeny and Umenyiora still haven't signed but each supposedly has a landing spot (Denver and Atlanta).
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Richard Seymour also an FA, I didn't even know. I'd say him and Andre Smith still floating around are the most surprising. Cincy has so much cap money available, why haven't they signed him to a decent front loaded contract? My only guess would be that he wants to go back to LT, and wants LT money instead of what he's being offered as a (very good) RT.

For me it is a gentleman I've gained a ton of respect for, and I've seen quite a bit of him due to him being in the NFC north. NO not Urlacher that would be funny (wish he was still with the bears), but Antoine Winfield, he has seen the redskins, but he is just such a leader, and aggresive db, exceptional in run support. I honestly believe he is a better all around corner than "Peanut Tillman" but thats just my opinon. Tillman is clearly better at ripping the ball.

I think Seymour was in that same draft as the infamous Jamaal Reynolds...

A few of them of course. Of those mentioned here, ones that are still under the magical age of 30 are Ellis, Smith, Collie. Umenyiora is 31, and despite the knee surgeries in 2011 started all 16 games in '12 getting 6 sacks and 43 total tackles, so he's still producing. Looks like Atlanta is going to swap Abraham for him.

Freeney is apparently looking for $6million/year. I guess we know why he's not signed!
