  • MIKE MAYOCK--MOCK DRAFT

Latest on DB Mike Mayock including news, stats, videos, highlights and more on NFL.com

Last one to post, but this guy is one of the best

I'd love to get any of the guys he has going 14-18 or at 21.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Okay if teo is gone lacy would be a great acquisition.

D-line pluggers can be found in subsequent rounds with tt moving up to get one.

I stumbled upon the Denver Post's first round mock draft this morning. They have GB taking Florida safety Matt Elam (Mayock has him going to Baltimore at #32). I don't think I'd seen anyone else mention him yet. They also speculate that if Geno Smith drops that far down in the draft, TT may trade down with someone who wants him. http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_23100755?source=pop
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

        Elam is too small imo.

If the draft falls like that we'd hand in the Werner card before before they were even done announcing the next pick. I'm mentally preparing for a draft doomsday scenario where we can't trade out and are basically forced to draft a 2nd round talent with our first round pick, but if we somehow came away with Werner, holy shit would that be exciting.

Where does he play, beef up at DE or OLB? He seems Kampman sized.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He'd more certainly be a 3-4 OLB, regardless of size he is an edge rusher. He might not have the ceiling of Perry (few do) but would be much more impactful as a rookie. This would allow us to move Matthews around the defense, keep fresh dogs on the field, and injury proof the position so we don't find ourself in another situation like last year.

                Who are the better fits?

I think Short, J. Williams, and Hankins are all better fits and should be picked closer to 55 than 26.

That definitely seems like the rap a lot of people have about him.

Agree. I've seen him compared to Bob Sanders, who was a good player for a while but seemed to always be hurt.
There are several other safeties I'd pick over Elam.

Also, if GB is supposedly committed to getting bigger/tougher, I'm not sure Elam solves that.
