What you call a waiting list we call a chance to visit. As an aside one of the worst lines I have ever been in was in New Smyrna beach post office.
It is too easy to get a prescription here, the waiting is for any service in a hospital except icu and Labour and delivery.

Getting back on topic I do think we are being over looked for a super bowl contender, and will continue to be so until we are 5-1 and crusing.

It does vary from province to province (state to state) quite a bit as does the ability to get a family doctor. It also depends on the service as well. In saskatchewan my dad took over three years to get a knee replaced. Same procedure in Ontario was about a nine month wait (if memory serves) . Population density and rate schedule have high impacts on time lines.

Age and lifestyle have some impact. Lifestyle mostly on transplants, where as age mostly affects how quickly you are bumped up the queue. I think age has less of an impact than who you know.
