    Sneezer’s Snack Shop
Sneezer’s Snack Shop at 1608 S. Greenwood (now Ashland) Avenue in the early 1950s. Vince Lombardi often ate breakfast here on his way to the practice field. The left half of the building was the restaurant, and the right half of the building was the Jahnke family home. On game day, Sneezer’s was a defacto tailgating site, 1960s style. During the 60s, tailgating at the stadium did not enjoy the popularity that it does today.
    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

My mouth is watering looking at the Sneezer's menue.

I recall a place near Exibition Park (Harness Racing) in Saint John, NB... back around 1962 that had a price of 10 cents on a hot dog. A milkshake cost 25 cents. Fish and chips cost all of 35 cents.

If Mae and I go careful tonight... supper will cost between $25-30$ in Greenfield Park, Quebec.

yup...love the prices. those were the days. a double-meat whataburger w/cheese (and jalapenos) here in dfw is $5 and some change...worth it though.

I think most of the sigs are fake.

At least all the coaches autographs are done by the same hand & it looks like that same person signed for most of the players.

That's an exciting picture and thread all-around. Nothing captures the thrill of the National Football League like a picture of a coach sipping coffee at a diner counter (though it is better than the thrill of murder in the cases of Hernandez and Ray Lewis).

I did enjoy the "Healthful Buttermilk" sign in the background - reminds me of the cause of my first coronary.

Also, I still own a sport coat just like Ol' Vince is wearing. Hope to be wearing it the next time I die.

You can't fool us Crusty, we know that's you in the backround wearing an Ivy cap, sipping a cup of coffee and hoping Vince lets drop a juicy detail!

LOL - sugar cubes. Been a while since I've seen one of those. Used to be a staple in restaurants, but seem to have disappeared in favour of little paper packets. I guess they don't lose as many to kids sucking on them!

From my extensive experience in the food services industry I can tell you that it was the flies landing on the cubes that led to the demise of that form of sucrose distribution. The pouring containers still exist, but those get all sticky in humid weather and from kids sucking on the spout. Thus, the sugar packets.
