Apparently all that brainwashing they did in GB did not entirely wear off, even once he donned the Purple and Yellow.

Doh! Of course, in the days before the 2-point conversion!

An interesting line further down in that article:
Ted Thompson LB HOU Oilers NYJ 11/23/1980 Toni Fritsch was injured in warmups.
      Thompson went 4 for 4.
All four kicks were in the fourth quarter, too!

        Complete game video here:

Thompson did the kicking off too. That game was a complete aberration for the Earl Campbell-era Oilers: the Snake throws for 388 yards and 4 tds, but also throws 4 picks, including a 6.

Aside: the NFL's lawyers seem to have gotten fat and lazy. I am seeing more and more complete NFL games on youtube these days, including entire seasons for certain teams.

Wow, thanks. Watched it to see the kicks...check out the TD 'dance' at 1:58:20! Great stuff.

He kicks one at 1:59:00. Not exactly textbook form! He kicks off at 2:00:00, does ok, puts it I10 kicking from the 40. Don't think you could ask for much more.

On another note, how do you shut out a team for 3 quarters, then allow them to score 4 times in the other? Can't you get your offense to burn a little time off the clock?

Looks like Mason Crosby's dad was a linebacker for the Jest.

                Awesome video. Loved the Snake.

The Jets under Walt Michaels were a weird team. They were supposed to be really good that year but they finished 4-12 and were the only team to lose to the 1-15 Aints. After his punter had a punt blocked, Michaels reportedly reamed him out in front of the team, ending his tirade with "I can fart further than you can punt."

It's a total Favre strategy given how good of friends he and Longwell are. No skin off my nose if they want to do this.

Not sure it's totally about BF. Once Longwell gets back in the fold and gets his name out there, it's a lifetime opportunity to make a living in the state of Wisconsin. Golf outings, banquets, etc. Much more lucrative than as a retired Viking in Minn.

That is a wonderfully cynical post. Repped.

If they can bring Longwell in, then get a retired offensive lineman and a retired defensive end (Tauscher and KGB?), they can fly all three down to escort Brent back to Green Bay. Maybe get Mike Sherman to pick him up at the airport.

I have the next guy to retire as a Packer to ease into a Favre retirement:

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
