  • M3 on LT David Bakhtiari playing only one snap: "He temporarily hurt something that he overcame. He was schedule to play in the first series."

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

So, 2-3 weeks then? I hope he can make the first game.

So what the hell does that mean? I take it that he's ok.

Then Bak will be lost for the season and we are royally screwed.

            • Maybe my perception is wrong, but it seemed like in several of the Holmgren years our teams were much deeper......much deeper. It seemed like we tended to do very well in the second half.

Our backups are getting torn a new asshole each and every week and I wonder why that is ?
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

I don't know about that, outside of OL and maybe LB. I mean, the guy mostly responsible for 21 points was a project CB they kept running out there and I think their CB group is probably as deep as it gets in this league. They cut a (declining) all-pro in Woodson and they have 2 guys already looking pretty good in his stead (Hayward, Hyde).

                • Dr. Hayward and Mr. Hyde.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

                  • Hyde looked sure-handed on punt returns. Not flashy, but I never felt like it was an adventure for him to secure the ball.

A good backup QB can cover up a lot of problems. Also, probably a lot of it is extreme youth. and that they don't tackle, are soft, small, and poorly aligned.

                        I blame Capers.

Yes, I am not worried about defensive depth, certainly not if Jones and Hayward can play.

Offense though, still looking for a QB. Some of the throws were terrible and then protection got shaky in the second half.

I agree. I find myself not all that concerned about depth on the defense, probably because the OL and backup QB situation is overshadowing any concerns. Starting to think TT might look outside his own group for OLinemen who can block. Vince Young is better than Graham Harrell, but I will reach for an airsick bag if he has to take a meaningful snap this year. I'm far from convinced B.J. Coleman will pan out as a backup QB.

Maybe I've had too much coffee this morning, but I'm pretty frustrated and past the point of patience with Campen and the OL -- you'd think by now they'd have the ability to field a line capable of pass protection and helping the RB's gain more than 2.5 ypc. Maybe Bulaga and Sherrod were supposed to be the answers, but I'm still annoyed and uneasy heading into Week 1.

Some of those backup LB's weren't playing the run very soundly. (Cyrus Gray!?!?) Stay healthy, Matthews and Perry.
