It is a kind of cool stat. I have always defended Ted as a guy who believes in his methods but will break his own rules if necessary. But, given this crazy stat regarding Packer purity, this draft and develop idea has gone from a tendency to a strict, inviolable rule with Ted.
Really, only Rodgers and Matthews are break the bank can't lose them players. Every other player has to come in at market or be lost to free agency, so it is not like we are in cap hell because of a half dozen contracts and are forced out of free agency. You would think we would snag a free agent starter once in a while.
I'm not complaining. I just think that the Packer purity thing has gone from representing an admirable philosophy to borderline obsession.
btw check out this link and look for a b/w image of Curly aligning an offense against tackling dummies. Is that Don Hutson playing left end on the right side of the photograph?

There is also a guy in background center grabbing his junk and saying "I got yer snapshot right here, pal."[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.
