  • Official 2013 Week 3, Packers -v- Bengals

Again, I think the Packers are an elite squad in 2013. To me, this is a similar team, maybe better in the end than the 16-0 Patriots of a few years ago.

Rodgers is at the absolute top of the game right now. His arm is as big or bigger than Brady's. His legs are as strong or stronger than Brees. These things have always been the case, but what's new is his pace, ability to manage the offense from the LOS, and composure. He reminds me of the record breaking Tom Brady and Peyton Manning years. He's just out there doing whatever he wants.

I said it last week and I feel that way even more now. Aaron Rodgers is an unstoppable force. The way he's playing makes his 2011 MVP season look bad.

I don't see how very many teams will beat the Packers when Aaron Rodgers is playing like this. I don't see how very many teams are going to be able to limit AR from just rolling up on them. I expect another blow out. The Bengals should put up a better fight than the Redskins, just because they have a better DL, but I don't think it will be enough, not even close.

    Packers dominate 37-23

Ok, I would like to start by saying that legends are made on chilly Sunday afternoons. This game will tell us everything we need to know about the packers. Off a dominating win against an NFC opponent at home we go on the road against an AFC team before our bye week. Playoff teams lose this game, superbowl teams win it.

Last week we saw what Rodgers is capable of when a running game keeps a defense honest. Not much, just record setting performances that leave even the most hyperbole ridden sportscasters speechless. My only complaint is that at some point MM and Spraypaint have to let the D finish a dominating performance so they can gain that swagger that great D's need. Continuing to play it tough and holding Washington to under 10 would have helped towards that goal.

I don't put a ton of stock in the SF game, season openers only tell you so much. I still think our OL is too weak, and I still have strong dislike for AJ Hawk, but many other things are falling into place. I can only imagine where this team would be today if Sherrod and Bulaga could get some time together on that OL. I get wood thinking about Sherrod, Sitton, Lang, Bacteria, Bulaga lining up to open 2014....but thats a thread for July.

I want a statement today, not a win. I want our D to dominate. I want the OL to give AR enough time to plant another 450 on cincy, but most importantly I want MM to committ to getting starks 12 carries in the first half.

I know you have the pulse on exaggeration and hyperbole as much as anyone, yet, in this case, you can thank me for conveying the most important truth of this game. The NFLs greatest player is going to be playing QB for our team.

                both Lacy & Kuhn inactive.

I wonder if Quarless can really serve as a lead blocker.

1 RB or FB we can trust. Not sure about this move.

No idea where it came from.....my wife must have snuck it in there sometime in the last year. Fortuitous? Let's hope so.....it's on me now! Packers 42, Cincy 21.

We are gonna live and die by the pass today. I'm somewhat nervous about this strategy. We only have Starks (who is one play away from a tweak/strain/hammy), and a backup (Franklin) who still can't get pass protecting right and has sat on the bench. Oh and he's a rookie.

With no Lacy available, even as just an emergency option if Starks goes down, we are gonna be in a tough situation here. If their front four gives us havoc the way Seattle's did last year for example, we are going to need a run game to keep the D line honest. Giving Starks the rock over 20 times is a dice roll based on injury risk IMO.

If we can pass block even somewhat adequately, we will roll. If we need any help from the running game, I do believe we are going to be in trouble.
