You mean you didn't get 4-6 weeks off from school?Originally posted by bobblehead View PostNO shit, I had that exact dislocation in 6th grade. I fell down the stairs on my way to gym class and my thumb was resting almost all the way back at my wrist and sticking straight up. The doctor said he never saw anything like it without a break. A rather hefty nurse pinned my arm down while the doc ripped it back into the socket....guess thats what you get when you aren't and NFL superstar.

Well rut, this little post goes out to every dizzy asshole that says Clay is a pussy.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostActually Favre had a CRACKED thumb not thumbnail, still proves my point. Mathews is a pussy.
What, you guys are badasses or something?
A bunch of internet posters that couldn't lick a goddamned stamp are calling out NFL players for their toughness?
That is so stupid, it is beneath contempt.
But I do have contempt for anyone that does this goofy shit.
Is it your leg, thumb, knee etc that is hurt.
No?, then STFU about the guys toughness.
You don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Not just Clay, most NFL players have more toughness in their fingernails than little internet worms like you have in their whole bodies.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostHow does Clay's sack taste?
Last night Julio Jones of the Falcons played the game after sustaining a season ending injury.
These guys have been stars in HS, college, & now the NFL.
I laugh my ass off when internet dimwits like you (I've seen some of your previous posts on here) question their guts to play hurt.
How the fuck do you know if a guy is feeling too much pain or is incapable of taking the field?
Oh yeah, that's right, you'd sling your keyboard at the runner and knock him down that way.

What KYPack said. They put screws in his fucking hand.

Yup, and the screws, I think, might actually be rigid wires that protrude out of his hand until they are removed. Impossible to play withOriginally posted by Rastak View PostWhat KYPack said. They put screws in his fucking hand.
Years ago, players probably WOULD have taped it up and played with it, but could have ended up with a thumb of little functional use as a result. Things can be fixed now that the "tough" guys of the past played with. Sure doesn't mean those who opt for surgery to get things fixed properly are any less tough.

Cool link Patler, really explains alot and gives a little more detail to a fan like myself that was curious about the injury and why you couldn't just "Club Up" and keep playing. Sounds like 4 weeks to heal, pins removed, then club/cast.Originally posted by Patler View PostInterview with hand specialist in GBPG discusses the operation, recovery, etc.:

It's frustrating as fans to see our team's stars out but the Packers usually err on the side of doing what is best for the player's future. I've been wondering lately if this is part of the reason that the Packers often have more injuries. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro ~Hunter S.

Guys, I am not saying Clay is a pussy for not playing AFTER having the procedure. I'm saying suck it up and have the procedure done AFTER the season. I'm sure his quality of life would still be just fine, while spending his millions with a somewhat damaged thumb. He's a great player, but gets hurt a lot. I'd take a solid player that is more durable, over a star that gets hurt easily any day.

I've been noticing more caution with injuries since the Nick Collins injury.Originally posted by denverYooper View PostIt's frustrating as fans to see our team's stars out but the Packers usually err on the side of doing what is best for the player's future.
