All the optimism earlier this week when it came to the availability of Chris Borland for Wisconsin's game against Iowa was, as it turned out, for naught.

Chris Borland a no-go for Badgers today (Vs Iowa)

" The loss of Borland is huge ... he is far and away UW’s leading tackler with 57; the next closest is Michael Caputo‘s 34. He’s also tied for second on the team in sacks (two) and third in tackles for loss (three). " Fr. LINL

    • skov is another one i would take a pass on

guess the knock on him is that he can't cover. and we kinda need a guy that does that

so even though i love his intensity, he might be off my board

      • Michigan State players honor suspended ( Team Captain) Max Bullough during Rose Bowl.

        Comment woodbuck27:

I believe I mentioned this ILB somewhere on the forum and I'm not sure if it was on this thread.

Anyone know anything about this mysterious suspension?

This draft is loaded at WR/TE/OT/LB.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

          • In my fantasy world, we somehow get the NT Nix. In reality, we get an offensive lineman who gets injured.

            • Possible Nix will be available. He had minor knee surgery in November, so teams will be looking into that. My guess is Steelers grab him at #15.

3-4 linemen, all of then, need to be fatties

look at our best ones this year. wilson and daniels, with boyd showing some solid potential. lower or mid round fat bodies. thats what we need
I'm not so sure about this. SF's Justin Smith and Ray McDonald are listed at 285 and 290. PIT's Brett Keisel goes 285, Cameron Heyward is 288.
I'd be concerned about Jones losing speed if he went much over 295.

If you're just looking for gap pluggers then I agree. If you want to get some pass rush from your DLine, you need more than Ryan Pickett clones.

That is one of the interesting questions about Capers D. He goes Super Size on his lineman to stop the run and protect the LBs on early or obvious run downs. Forget McGinn's offseason non-sense, when healthy the packers base D line is one of the biggest in the League. But that has not made the team consistently more effective.

Is there a point to being that big if you don't have the run defense results to show for it? Because in the end it splits you D line group, diminishes death and reduces the pass rush.

So Green Bay will take a WR in round 1 then?

Trade down, round 2 WR, as per Ted's programming.

If you think about it, our D was most successful when we had Pickett and Howard Green and Raji. Pretty daunting size. Now Pickett is aging/hurting and Raji is miscast.

2009 was even better with Pickett, Jolly and Jenkins at end. That line could stuff the run with Hawk and Burnett as backers. Problem is, not enough pass rushers on team for other down distance. 2010 was better balance with Raji playing more, being more effective.

If Raji isn't here to pass rush, the run D players contribute nothing to pass rush. Puts a lot of pressure on the 3 or 4 remaining guys. My suspicion is that the count on Jones and Boyd to fill gaps and might open the checkbook for a safety.

                          • RA'SHEDE HAGEMAN, DT, Minnesota is possibly still going to be there at 21. Strong as an ox, he can bench press 465 lbs (wow), so he fits the mold of what TT likes in lineman. Could he be our pocket collapser? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200...rbust-prospect
                            Thanks Ted!

If as it looks we have Dom capers back in 2014.

                              If he's going to run a 3 - 4 Base 'D'; Dom Capers had better place his accents on the '3' of the " 3 - 4".

                              Ohh Dear .

I'm liking this guy too. The fact that he has very good pass coverage skills and that he had a great game vs A&M and Manziel shows he can play vs those mobile QBs that kill us too often. Love the quickness and overall speed.
