Just wanted everybody to remember that you should be cheering for the Riders to win over the Lions on Sunday starting at 430 Et. We already enjoy cheering against the asshat Lions, so it will feel natural and good. All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

I've always been partial to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. I'm going to start rooting for the Riders in the Western Conference. Both teams are just north of my home state. Wikipedia states they are both community owned."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Because they are just like the lions in detroit, they suck and are cheap dirty little scumbags. Winnipeg is like the vikings, bunch of asshats every last one of them and dont even get me started on the two bears of the north, calgary and edmonton two teams cut from the same cloth - that cloth being a used diaper - who would sell their own grandmother for a new pair of socks.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostI've always been partial to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. So that is why you cheer for the riders (unless you have mental issues). All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

I'm sticking with Winnipeg. They ship some of their best hockey players (e.g. Jonathan Toews) to my favorite college hockey school. I see Weston Dressler plays for the Riders. I wondered where he went. How do the playoffs work. So, I'll root for a Blue Bombers vs. Roughriders Grey Cup. Love the name Roughriders. The #1 Roughrider (Teddy Roosevelt) lived in my home state."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Weston Dressler is one of the top wr in the league right now and has made an impact since day one. His only issue is injuries (so I assume the packers wil look at him in the off season). As much as I would love to see your grey cup match up, Winnipeg is not in the playoffs. I appreciate the riders head nod so here is a little history (thanks to wikipedia)Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostI'm sticking with Winnipeg. The team draws fans from across Saskatchewan and Canada who are affectionately known as the "Rider Nation".[1] Their loyalty is all the more remarkable since the Roughriders play in the smallest market in the CFL, and the second-smallest major-league market in North America (behind only Green Bay, Wisconsin). They have finished first in the Western Division seven times and have won the Western championship a record 27 times.
The Riders' biggest rival is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers; games between the two are often sold out before the beginning of the season.[2] The Roughriders Football Club and the city of Regina have been chosen to host the 101st Grey Cup in 2013.
The origin of the name has multiple theories, one of which describes how the North-West Mounted Police were called Roughriders because they broke the wild horse broncos that were used by the force and the moniker was adopted from them. Another states that the name was adopted from Theodore Roosevelt's cavalry contingent that was known as the Rough Riders, who fought in the Spanish–American War. It was believed that there were Canadian troops in the contingent that returned to Canada following the war and moved out west.
The Riders also use a pair of "borrowed" songs--the team's victory march/touchdown song "Green is the Colour" (edited copy of the original "Blue Is the Colour (song)" written by D Boone and R McQueen for the Chelsea Football Club) and "On Roughriders" (edited from On Wisconsin, the fight song for the Wisconsin Badgers)
" Rider fans are also known for dressing up in unique and often bizarre Rider-themed costumes, the most popular being the watermelon helmet" and we even have foam watermelon hats much like the foam cheese heads.
The above was some short little tidbits from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saskatchewan_Roughriders
Kinda neat you brought up Teddy! I also highlighted a couple of potential reasons why you too should be a riders fan if your from Wisconsin and a Packers fanLast edited by Upnorth; 11-08-2013, 04:50 PM.All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers 'bombed' this season and didn't make the playoffs. They finished the regular season schedule with a horrific 3-15 record.
So you'll be more up to date on what the Blue Bombers have done over the past two decades:
" Bomber Nation has spoken, and it wants to see major changes this winter on Ken Ploen Way.
This isn’t much of a surprise when you consider the team’s 3-15 record, but never before have fans wanted to see so much turnover in the franchise that has gone 23 years without a Grey Cup.
Usually the Blue and Gold supporters want to see two or three players given their walking papers, but this year they want 12 to be punted. There are another two players, defensive back Jovon Johnson and punter Mike Renaud, who got 50-50 splits, and Johnson was the CFL’s most outstanding defensive player two years ago.
No, the fans are not happy — and rightly so."** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.
