Compared to the late Dan Devine-coached teams of my youth, this edition of the Packers looks like the '72 Dolphins. I'm bolted on to the bandwagon come hell or high water.
Which is not to say that I didn't swear like a p****d-off sailor yesterday.
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

Lame sauce thread. We KNEW things would be bad if Rodgers went down and what do you know.....he went down and TT and Stubby did not have even a competent backup QB on the roster. Toz could turn into a player but you can't throw a guy in the game with NO practice reps and expect great things. The DBs just stunk yesterday....the big plays they gave up when they had double coverage was just embarrassing.

I think you should spend more time in church on sundays.

I find switching to radio is a good strategy. Wayne Larrivee and "The Rock" host a soothing pity-party when things go bad.

i was brought up as a packer fan in the late 70's early 80's. i never even knew the packers were allowed to win for about 12 years

i sure as hell didn't know there were things called playoffs

I said right now they remind me of the 70's and 80's teams, which from my recollection were also not very good, injury ridden teams with no heart. Also poorly coached, anyone that argues that stubby and his stooges are coaching their finest football lately are on crack.

Call me nuts, but I loved watching Packer football in the 1980's more than any other era. That 8-8 team had excellent players, and it kept you on the edge of your seat because you just knew they were gonna burst out soon, if not now, next year. Of course it never happened. The PAcker-Bear rivalry was fantastic, the raging Ditka, Forest Gregg's twitching eye. PAcker-Viking rivalry was hot too.

I enjoyed it more then also, but that's probably because I was much younger and everything was more fun then

I don't know, it came across to me as a more broad based criticism of the organization as a whole.

I see absolutely no similarity at all between "this team and coaching staff/front office" and the Packers of the '70s and '80s.

we saw a defense (and some players on offense, looking at you marshall) that absolutely quit yesterday when the game was still in doubt. and then to see them laughing and joking around with players from the other team right after the game was sickning

if we would have lost, but everyone had played their ass of, well then fine, we lost. but that shit yesterday by the defense was pathetic. thats probably why you're not seeing too many people bashing the offense today, with the exception of newhouse, tolzien and the crew played balls out all game. that side didn't quite
The defense's shitty play was what broke my heart. The Packer defense of the last two weeks have reminded me not of the 70's or 80's, but of 2011. They couldn't stop my mother on a run up the gut the way they're playing. And they seem to have no idea what's wrong, or what to do.

                        Let's hope the coaches do.

This team isn't very good right now because they're not healthy. Those 70's and 80's teams were bad regardless of the injury situation. If the Packers were poorly coached, that game would have been a blowout yesterday.

This team is not fun to watch, I have been watching this team for 30 years and sunday was an embarrassment, the defense just plain sucks. I understand that the offense would struggle without a probowl quaterback, but it's the first time that I was just disgusted with the effort the defense put up. I'd rather be outside enjoying my day, not wasting my time with these bums
