  • The Hammer

The old hammer may be coming down after a post game tirade in the locker room after the Eagles loss.

The big coach let 'em have it. From the sound of things, Red and all our other resident red asses would not have outdone the ass chewing that big Mike whupped on the GBP after the ball game on Sunday.

MM was super pissed at his team's effort in Sunday's loss.

"I'm disappointed as the head coach of this team because we have a recurring issue that I have to get fixed, and we'll get on that tomorrow."

Does this mean somebody gets the axe?

At a minimum, somebody should get some time on the pine for the lackadaisical effort put forth by the team on defense yesterday. The effort on defense must improve if we have any hope of posting a winning season and being in the mix at the end of the season.

McCarthy isn't the type of coach that fires assistants during the year. He's only cleaned his during one offseason. More than likely, I think it means personnel changes. M.D. Jennings, a couple of the corners, and Marshall Newhouse are some guys that look to be in the doghouse--although it's unlikely they'll be able to bench Newhouse with the injuries on the OL.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Someone will get called to the principal's office. It remains to be seen whether it's a final notice (that we won't know about) or a pink slip.

I heard a number of folks on the radio reacting to that MM quote by guessing that Capers was going to get axed. No way, there is just no way the DC gets dumped. Who takes his place? Greene's done a good job with the LBs, but is he really ready to be a DC? So I'm guessing it's more personnel changes, especially among the DBs.

He should also fire the strength & conditioning coach. We must lead the league in pulled muscles.

            who could do capers job?

it could be argued that capers hasn't done his own job for a few seasons now

The coach fire talk must have been going on in the press box/media room after his comments came to light about taking care of it on Monday. Its a case of 2+2 = 5. Yes, there are definite problems that keep emerging. but McCarthy really didn't hint that he thought it was a coach and he emphatically denied it was scheme on the big pass plays.

The line that you get what you tolerate means players who have kept up the same non-sense are in trouble. I really doubt its the coach.

If they make any staff moves, I'm sure it won't be until the end of the day. Personnel moves, we might not find out until the gameday inactives get listed.

I doubt any coaches get axed before the end of the season. But I don't know if I would have wanted to be in the film room this morning.

i think if you're going to make coaching moves it has to come when you have no chance at the playoffs anymore

so, maybe not until next week

I don't think the hammer gets any coaching staff during the season, that'd be more trouble than it's worth.

                              Personnel moves?

Wallace to IR, Flynn signed if he works out well today.

House to CB and/or Banjo to safety to spice up the DB's.

I haven't had the juice to look at the injuries that happened, they are too much for be to bear at this point.
