Green Bay is 10th this year, 1st in SGL in 2012/2010, 16th in 2011. 1st overall for the last 4 years. Of course, they had the 1 injury they could not have this year.

San Fran has had a good run these last few years as the least injured team overall. This year is their "worst" and they are the 20th most injured.

Belichick thinks the new offseason rules are to blame: http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_...-why-there-are

“You have a gap between preparation and competition level. And I think that's where you see a lot of injuries occurring. We get a lot of breakdowns. We get a lot of situations that players just aren't as prepared as they were in previous years, in my experience anyway.”
Of course, Bill could very well be telling a story that is not borne out because he values the offseason prep.

If you tabulated all of that yourself that's a lot of fine work. That's also revealing.

John Clayton made that; it's in the link I posted.

Silverstein had different numbers the other day. He had starter games missed at 73 thus far in 2013, 93 in 2012, and 86 in 2010. I'm guessing Clayton didn't include Cobb or Hayward in his numbers.

Bulaga? This team has been as snake bitten as any team I have ever witnessed. I don't need a chart to see that. Show me another team that lost the sheer talent we have.

HGH has to have an impact on hamstring injuries (both volume and recovery time).

On a side note, Von Miller added ~25 lbs this year. In an attempt to get bigger, he seemed to have lost some of his real superpower: his gumby-like flexibility.

Wow, some monster numbers on there. The Giants have more than the Pack did in 2010, SD and Oakland up there as well.

Coach Hoody finally brought up the thing that some of us on here have been debating lately

he said yesterday that he thinks all the injuries going on lately are a direct result of the lack of contact at practice

Lots of factors - that's one of them along with rules changes (people going low on receivers) and focus on concussion protocols. I also do believe NFL had a drug problem before the cba was signed.

How does that explain the hamstrings and Clay Matthew's thumb?

Hamstring injuries are generally the most common of all injuries in the NFL game of football. The Hamstring muscles can be pushed or stretched beyond their limit and consequently the muscle tissue torn. The Hamstring muscles can become susceptible to injury due to fatigue.

It's vital that a teams Training Dept. stresses that players stretch the muscle groups during games. Don't just play all out and head to the sideline for a rest and sit on the bench until hitting the field again and yanking the heck out of the muscle.

There's such a thing as athletics and common sense; that you learn as a youth, teen, High School and College player.

Do you forget a lot when becoming well paid?

Clay Matthews III's thumb. He's got to stop moving all those 'fatheads' around his pad. Spend more time using a hand exerciser to add extra strength to his hands, fingers and thumbs.

I was bagging on MM about that long before the new CBA, which is what hoody talks about. Maybe its best for us that the other teams are being forced to practice like we do....although, I am thinking some coaches aren't quite adhering to the rules.
