So maybe it just ain't the lunatic fringe that thinks it's a good idea.

    I hate the whole concept.

Randall has so much talent, guts, brains, leadership, etc that you have to keep him in that slot and reading the defenses, making plays.

The guy won the game that got us here.

Other players must play on returns, we can't spare 18 for that duty.
    Good Day KY. Yes.

If I recall it correctly we had a discussion late last season and replacing Randall Cobb for KO and punt return duty. The danger involved in losing him to such.

We saw Jeremy Ross emerge for such duty last season and if MM lost confidence in Ross. Randall Cobb was called for such duty again. We saw this happen in our playoff loss to the San Fran 49ers last season.

In Jeremy Ross's last game as a Packer. The 34-30 come from behind win in Cincy by the Bengals. We saw that Randall Cobb was again pressed into duty to handle a punt about the mid way point in the 3rd Qtr. of that game. Before the game was over MM went back to Jeremy Ross. WR/KR Jeremy Ross even caught a pass to secure a first down for the Packers later in that game.

After the bye week and in the next game Vs the Detroit Lions we saw Micah Hyde and Randall Cobb share punt return duty.

MM again uses Micah Hyde and Randall Cobb for punt returns in the 19-17 win in Baltimore Oct. 13, 2013. This is the game where the Packers lost Randall Cobb after being struck on his right knee on a tackle by Matt Elam.

10/15/2013 Randall Cobb Injured-Reserve (DFR) Fractured right fibula

It's ahead of us what MM will do in regards of a returner (KO's and punts ) come tomorrow. I've no idea what MM will elect to do there. Based in the past, MM will switch up kick return duties depended on the game situation or what he feels.

Hell, the Vikings used to put Randy Moss on returns in big spots. Same with Adrian Peterson.
Holmgren put Brooks and Freeman in there from time to time after Howard left for the greener pastures of Oakland, and Brooks was coming back from that total knee blow out. (well, I'm certain about Brooks, but am guessing about Freeman).

Deion Sanders was an All-Pro shutdown corner and he returned kicks and played offense. Think Belichick regrets putting Gronk on ST last season? Nope. Players play.

Playing scared and conservatively achieve little in football and in life. Look at me. While NOT conservative by nature, I haven't gotten laid since Super Bowl 31. I am too scared to talk to girls.

Sanders returned kicks for only four years. None of those were 10 weeks after a fractured fibula. And he was often NOT the sole returner on the team, believe it or not.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
