How about a thread to discuss who goes and who stays, based on how they played this year vs how much they would cost the team?

    Stay

    Arod - no brainer
    Jordy - Mr consistent
Crosby - great turn around story
Clay - wish he would stay healthy but prolly best defensive player
    Lacy - no brainer
Hyde - some potential here but needs to improve

    Maybe stay

Hawk - depends on whether we draft a replacement
Finley - not hopeful based on what he thinks he is worth
Shields - want to move him to Stay but depends on the cost

    Gone

    New house - I hope
    Capers - I hope
    Safeties - name not important

i think hawk stays just because it would be tough to replace both ILB's and both safeties and IMO hawk is the best of those 4

Maybe, and didn't he already take a pay cut for this year?

Hawk and Burnett stay as Red says. Need some consistency. Definitely need a new safety. Finley is gone unless he is cheap. Newhouse should be gone even if he offers to pay us.

James Jones is a UFA also. My opinion, Jones, Finley can go if they are too high. Raji has had the lowest impact of someone in a contract year on this squad.

Agree on Hawk and Shields. Newhouse should be shown the door tomorrow in exit interviews.

Lacy should be used like crazy on his rookie contract. His pricetag after the rookie deal will be steep if he stays healthy. Packers got a home run with this kid. Crosby did a great job when he had to make incentives. Hyde played OK, but he also made some rookie mistakes this season.

Bak - can't spell his name, another positive rookie.

I am thinking no one under contract gets cut/reduced. Its a small possibility that Tramon gets reduced, but I kinda doubt it. I think Raji and Finley are gone based on overvaluing themselves. Shields is a must sign. I really want JJ back as well.

I forget who else is up as FA, but I don't think we lose anyone of consequence if we resign JJ and shields.

Tramon - prolly saved his job with performance over last few games but wish he would take a pay cut based on his performance at beginning of year.

A list of players whose contracts are up this year. A few are not UDFA's.

Raji - Gone. I'm not sure he wants to be here.

Pickett - Back if Raji is gone.

Finley - Back, if he continues his career.

Jones - Gone if someone offers him starter money. I'm guessing he's back.

                  Kuhn - He'll be back.

Mike Neal - He'll be back. Played pretty well for a guy learning a new position.

                  Quarless - He'll be back.

                  Newhouse - Gone.

Starks - back unless someone offers him starter money.

Shields - TT has to sign him. He will.

                  C.J. Wilson - Probably gone.

                  Lattimore - He'll be back.

                  EDS - He'll be back.

                  Wallace - Gone.

                  Francois - Probably back.

                  Bell - Probably gone.

Flynn - I'm guessing he's now resigned to being a backup. He'll be back.

Jolly - Back if he continues his career.

                  Banjo - he'll be back.

A couple of days ago I saw in the JS that he had a cervical spine injury. He is done - like Collins and likely Finley. Any player who values his life should get out of Green Bay while he can still walk.
