Seahawks AVG. Age at 4th youngest and 25.31.Originally posted by denverYooper View PostThe local drivetime was discussing the average age of the Broncos vs Seahawks rosters and mentioned that the Broncos were the 5th oldest on average whereas the Seahawks were the 4th youngest. Google-fu brought me the chart on this page:

The "PaCKERZ R too YUNG!" argument usually rears its head when they struggle. This year, though, they had a slightly older (as of 9-4-13 but I think it's still true) roster than Seattle.
Seattle also has no player with Super Bowl experience on its roster.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

Jon Ryan was given a service when Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy cut him.Originally posted by pbmax View PostJon Ryan as well.
He was able to hook up with an NFL Team that knew his talent/poterntial in the NFL.
It wasn't working out between him and his ST's coach. Who was that any Packerrat?
So how has Jon Ryan fared in Seattle? Have been following up on Jon Ryan's NFL career as I have! Just in case your not aware of that:
Cut by Packers, Jon Ryan became a stalwart for Super Bowl-bound Seahawks

Alot of Canadian football fans felt that TT and MM blew it with this special talent 'athlete' and man and cutting him. Jon Ryan was BIG TIME in the CFL..and in terms of CFL history.Originally posted by Rodgers12 View PostRight. Canada's finest. WB is proud.
Frost over Ryan? Puzzling.
I still recall the utter shock at the decision to cut him. I couldn't believe it. That decision came as such a surprise to me. Favre was gone...OK. Jon Ryan !?!? OUCH !! ... I didn't understand that. That made little sense.
Ohh yea... right here at Packerrats:
All the lame excuses... built into his mechanics and his success rate dropping the ball inside of the opponents 5 and 10 yard lines. He was strong but he couldn't pin the opposition back in their end. No he couldn't learn that !?
Sure.
Let's examine it from the standpoint of his available coaching. His position coach !
Let's examine it in terms of ( then or 2007-08 ) and things still going on with the Packers and GM and Coaching and the ST's Coach:
" During the 2007 season, Ryan posted a net average of 37.6 yards, 12th in the NFL and the finest in Green Bay since 1969. His gross mark of 44.4 was the fourth-best in club history.
Ryan was released by the Packers on September 1, 2008, a move that was considered by many Packer fans to be a mistake and bewildering as Ryan boasted the best punting statistics the team had seen in years.
In the following Week 1 of the 2008 regular season, Jon Ryan signed with the Seattle Seahawks on September 9, 2008.
[I]" In Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers, he kicked a 63 yd punt, a 60 yd punt and a 55 yd punt. He had a great 2008 season and finished with 78 punts averaging 45.6 yards."
Jon Ryan was at Home in Seattle and in the NFL.
Why? .... did it get that way Packerrats?
Here's a hint !:
Green Bay Packers "obviously competence challenged" ST's Coach SHAWN SLOCUM.
We're still seeing today the reason why? I'll qualify that. Some Packerrats see that.
Canadian football fans were shocked !
In the long and honored tradition and history of the CFL. Football Canada knew that the Packers had an obvious gift in Jon Ryan. I'm positive that generally a lot of Canadian football fans took a sudden interest in the Green Bay Packers upon Jon Ryan's signing.
Jon Ryan's release didn't go down well in Canada, in terms of that and any decent sense ( and Green Bay Packers ).
By the way .... In case your unaware of this ... the Green Bay Packers have a lot of Canadian fans.Last edited by woodbuck27; 01-26-2014, 08:35 PM.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

Tom Brady says he won't watch Super Bowl.

" I don’t have much of a rooting interest, truthfully. Those games are hard to watch," Brady said. "I don’t see myself sitting down to enjoy a football game or watch it. Our season is over. Truthfully, I could care less about watching a game. That's pretty much how I feel." ... Tom Brady ..... FR. LINK** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

I think it all depends on the weather.Originally posted by denverYooper View PostAnother thing to consider: Denver has been better at defending the pass than the run. Denver's defense matches up against Seattle's O better than many they could have faced from the NFC.
It's also a personality matchup. The Broncos are much more "professional" but may not be as talented overall (mainly on defense) whereas the talent level of the Seahawks is great...but you have to wonder how the discipline/maturity plays into everything.

OK, time to get serious on this here message board.
2012, McCarthy watched film of the unbeatable at home Seahawks and he wanted to pass (on the road) against that all World secondary. Specifically, he or Rodgers wanted to go deep. It might have worked had Newhouse and Bulaga not decided to have career defining meltdowns. The only way this game is not a perfect metaphor for Bulaga's last two seasons is that he did not get injured in the game.
So that tells us some things (and if it tells you McCarthy is unqualified to coach I understand but you should pick another random thread to call me out with a 8,500 word post):
1. McCarthy is a good film coach who generally can find the opponents weak spot. Why did he pick the secondary, specifically the deep secondary? Was it just because of man coverage and single safety? Was that even the defense they ran? Were the DBs all injured in that game? Was it Cobb's presence?
2. Can Denver pass protect against Carroll's defense long enough to get deep?
3. After the pass blocking self-immolated, McCarthy HAD to run, had modest success and came back in the game. It even opened up some things in the passing game. Can the Broncos run on Teenage Mutant Ninja Defense?
4. A very mediocre Packer D kept the Packers in this game. Can Seattle's offense actually score enough points to defeat even a harassed Peyton Manning?Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I too am having a hard time getting amped up for this game. I'm no fan of either team, frankly.Originally posted by woodbuck27 View Posthttp://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/1/2...ots-super-bowl
