  • Read This, Be Smarter: Grading an NFL Offensive Lineman

Great look at grading a lineman with Russ Lande at MMQB and Willie Color, former Steeler and current Jet.

Covers the basics of what coaches are looking for as well as some O line terminology such as Scat Protection, which is NOT what it sounds like it is. Also a nice peek, with an actual example, of why you might not want your O line coach choosing your O lineman over the personnel department.

Offensive linemen are overlooked by everyone except the coaches who grade them each week—and those marks are the difference between lasting in the NFL and finding a new career. For wide bodies, there’s little room for error

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Also a great read on how, unless you are facing the 49ers and Justin Smith, being a Left Guard is easier and more lucrative than being a Right Guard.

        You are a tackle. Satisfied?

Not Russ Lande, he is at Sports on Earth. This article was by Russ Tucker at MMQB.
