  • Soft market for aging tailbacks

Wow, two guys who were world beaters such a short while ago are looking for teams and not (quickly) finding buyers. Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones Drew will likely both be on new teams next year.

Just further proof of how fungible the position is. Almost feel like we should be counting how many 'good years' Lacy has starting now!

its amazing how much these Rb's today still do, even in a 2 back system. yet their pay is just free falling

you can get a legit starting caliber rb these day for under a million bucks, why the hell then would anyone want to pay chris johnson or MJD 7 or 8 million a year, or even half that?

its just amazing to me how the cost of every position goes up, but rb is nosediving. kickers make more then rb's these days

and then, these are the guys that wear down the fastest, about half the career lifespan of any other football player

why would any young kid want to be a NFL running back anymore?

Their biggest problem is the CBA and that short lifespan. After their 4 good years of proving they are studs, they are often spent. Unfortunately that is when they finally hit FA.
