I am not a Sabin fan but I think he has a decent idea here but it could use a little fine tuning. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports...uting-combine/
He is not trying to stop kids from signing early really just giving them a chance to see if they really are ready for the NFL.
If they are not ready they can still play and develop another year or 2 depending on how much eligibility they have left .

The idea seems pretty reasonable, or at least is a good starting point. The more solid information a player has, the better chance he will have of making a good decision.
