Which one of these safeties can play deep? I just want to keep how disappointed I will be straight when Ted drafts a LB at the top of the 2nd round.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yeah, but they till might want to draft his replacement. That contract only has 3 million guaranteed, so it could end up being a 1 year contract. Wilfork is coming off an achilles injury.Originally posted by PaCkFan_n_MD View PostNice mock. But Wilfork just re-signed with the pats.I can't run no more

The same thing could have been said (and probably was) about Nick Collins prior to 2008.Originally posted by smuggler View PostTerrence Brooks can play deep and cover but will never be a centerfielder because he doesnt play the ball well in the air and cannot catch.I can't run no more

Nah, Collins knock wasnt that he displayed weak ball skills, it was stiff hips and playing weaker competition at Beth Cook. Brooks really doesnt need ball skills to be a good player though. I just think hell be doin it for another team since someone will overdraft him due to his footspeed and I seriously doubt itll be TT.

My point was that in Collins's first 3 years in the NFL, he has a total of 4 INT's, including 0 in 2007 before having 7 in 2008. He often had chances at INT's those first 3 years, but didn't catch the ball. Some guys improve in that area, and some don't.Originally posted by smuggler View PostNah, Collins knock wasnt that he displayed weak ball skills, it was stiff hips and playing weaker competition at Beth Cook. You could be right about Brooks being drafted earlier than he should. It's not a great year for Free Safeties.I can't run no more

imo, we can't wait 2 or 3 years to get decent safety play

Actually, I would argue that Collins was decent in 2005-2007 before becoming a great player in 2008. The Collins of 2005-2007 would be a significant upgrade over M.D. Jennings. The Packers don't need a pro bowl safety in 2014 to bet better. Mere competence would be a significant upgrade.Originally posted by red View Postand collins took 2 or 3 years to develop

i remember collins being ok his rookie year, and i can't remember if it was his second or third year when it finally seemed to "click"
and yes, i would agree that collins in any of his years would be better then any of the shit we have now
and collins was a special player, he was a second round pick from a school that no one even knew existed and a college division that most though was an adult weekend league. if he was from a bigger school, he would have been a first rounder
brooks is a high profile player from the national champions. everyone (experts) have been able to see every snap he's played, and they still deem him to be only the 4th to 8th best safety in this draft
i'll say the same thing about brooks as i say about bucannon, and boston, reynolds, bailey. they're good athletes, but they all need lots of refinement. some will beable to turn that raw talent into something and become good players, other won't
to me haha and pryor look like pretty sure things, the others all look like gambles that may or may not work out

I think Brooks...ou have about right....going around the 70 range....but....a lot of the guys we seem to like in certain rounds I think go before us.
For example......Jordan Mathews....that dude is LONG gone by our 2nd round pick
And the Iowa TE...I don't think he goes much past our round two pick....my get tells me he's got Hoody Genius written all over him
The more I think this through......I think we get Mosely in round one. Ebron doesn't get past Pittsburg...he may go sooner. The Bears either take a top CB or the safety from Alabama.....the Ravens take Prior.....
and Green Bay takes Mosley, a huge plotting slug, or they trade down if they can find a partner.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Remember when TT traded back and we were all hoping for defense and he picked Jorday Nelson in round two
...................................
I could see that happening with Mathews this year if our guys are off the board
Would PR go crazy if TT drafted a WR with his first pick ?
