That headline still irks me. Like any GM, but especially TT, would be "forced" to pick someone he didn't want.

    Dumb headline. Really dumb.

I think he had several players he wanted. After Ball got taken, the list shrunk enough that he couldn't go down anymore.

And the chasm between how a GM looks at a draft and how reporters and fans look at the draft begins immediately. Thompson sees value AND a nice position fit, neither necessarily more important to the other PLUS extra picks.

Reporters see, report and talk about how Thompson has now addressed the RB spot and make a new list of the worst positions on the team (ILB, safety)
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

With ya but I'll take it; some of the beat writers thought TT loved Monte Ball and really wanted him
Instead, it looks like Denver picked the wrong guy when we might have as well.
Ball is still going to be ok though.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER
