  • THE HOT 100 BY GIL BRANDT FROM NFL NETWORK

Johnny Manziel has been Gil Brandt's No. 1 draft prospect since January, but Brandt's final Hot 100 plus 25 has several moving parts, including Khalil Mack and Jadeveon Clowney switching spots.

He has Jimmie Ward at 44. Many mock drafts have Ward going earlier than that. Are the mock drafts over hyping Ward?

I like Ward, but think TT would view him as too small to consider in the 1st round.

I haven't looked at all those guys of course, but I've looked at a lot of them... and find the rankings pretty suspect.

Manziel #1?? Not even close... I wouldn't draft the guy in the 2nd round - even if I needed a QB.

Other guys he has rated much higher than I see them are Kony Ealy (20), CJ Mosley (23), Cyrus Kouandjio (24), Stephon Tuitt (28), Ra'Shede Hageman (29), Timmy Jernigan (31), Demarcus Lawrence (37), Kelvin Benjamin (41), Carlos Hyde (48)...

At the same time, he has one of my favorite WR's, Dante Moncrief down at (72), and I'd be shocked if he were there for our pick at #53.

Funny. I like him too - he fits what TT wants in a WR. I think TT might move up to get him. Weakness - he is not Sidney Moncrief's son.

I think he is ripe for us at our 2nd round slot
My hope would be somehow Allen Robinson slips there as I like him more than Moncrief.

A TE, or even a C, would not surprise me in round two either

And of course LB/S are pressing needs

He has Beckham jr at 11 and Cooks at 12. Honestly guys, if Gil Brandt has these guys rated this high, so could Ted. And if Ted has a WR ranked sifnificantly higher than other positions when the pick comes around, it could happen.

I agree that beckham JR is the more dynamite player with the ball in his hands. I think Cooks is the guy who really knows how to get open and click with his QB. In Green Bay, i think Cooks has a special skillset.

I wrestle both ways between the two; but you are spot on in that it could happen

LET'S SAY IN OUR PR DRAFT SHAZIER GETS PICKED BY AZ

                  Who is the BPA ?

                  It's probably WR Cooks

Dunno who my BPA is, but I trade down. We don't need receivers to be picked in the first round. We have two supremely talented receivers and an all-world quarterback. You could put Taco Johnson out there and they'd do just fine and score 25 points a game. They need defense.

Personal, I think Brandt's lost it a bit. He's one of the experts that I trust the least.

I don't know...I think there's a chance Moncrief is there at 53. There will be a run on TE/WR in R2 for sure, but I can think of a couple of receivers I'd take over him so he's likely to drop.

He has Shazier rated rather high IMO. I do not want Ted to draft him at #21.

McGinn (I know, you all hate him) did a piece discounting HaHa and Pryor (and ward) saying they grade out very low compared to safeties in recent drafts. Scouts basically said they will go high enough because a lot of teams need safety help, but they aren't first round talent especially in this draft.

And Mayock and Casserly graded both higher than Kenny Viccario and Eric Reed from last yr. Conflicting reports everywhere
