Not saying he should've been a 1st round pick at all. I agree with you...later rounds. But a guy that's 6'5", 240 is a HUGE target! Yeah, maybe he's a crappy route runner, but he's huge. Can't teach huge. Someone at least is taking a flier on himOriginally posted by wist43 View PostSeriously, don't know what these GM's are looking at - other than size/speed ratio...
Size/Speed ratio does not a football player make.
Benjamin can't run routes to save his life... which, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that something a WR in the NFL has to do??
And Bucannon - my God, did you see that guys combine workout?? My hips are more fluid than his, and I have one artificial hip, and the other one is severely arthritic and needs to be replaced!!!!
Those are 2 terrible picks in the 1st round... Maybe Benjamin will develop over time, but you draft guys like that in the 3rd/4th round, not the 1st.
And Bucannon?? If I'm an opposing Offensive Coordinator?? I'm looking to match him up in coverage and put double moves on him all day...

Teddy Bridgewater
School: Louisville
Position: QB
Positive: Highly decorated three-year starter who's consistently improved over the course of his career. Sells ball fakes, patient in the pocket, and buys as much time as necessary. Senses pressure, does not panic under the rush, and steps up to avoid defenders. Knows where his receivers are, keeps his eyes down the field, and stays with the action. Effectively reads defenses in the pocket or on the move and keeps his eyes downfield. Elusive, escapes the rush and picks up yardage with his legs. Takes care of the ball, does not make errant passes or many mental mistakes. Looks away from covered targets and will go to secondary receivers. Good athlete with a terrific arm. Zips the outs, drives the deep pass but also puts touch on throws when necessary. Displays terrific field vision, takes advantage of opportunities, and nicely places the ball into receivers' hands. Throws a catchable pass and spreads the ball around to all his targets. Goes to the safe underneath outlet if nothing is available downfield. Displays a sense of timing and does not have receivers waiting on the ball. Very accurate on short and intermediate throws.
Negative: Lacks height and pocket presence. Has his share of passes knocked away. Struggles to withstand the rush. Durability could be a concern at the next level. Average downfield accuracy.
Analysis: Bridgewater was a productive quarterback who played smart and athletic football. He possesses the mental abilities and arm strength to start at the next level but his size and growth limitations could be a problem. If placed in the right system and properly coached Bridgewater could be a long time starter.I can't run no more

But they've summoned, they've summoned up
