I'm really surprised by a lot of these picks... seem like a lot of reaches and projections.

this was Patler's guyOriginally posted by Joemailman View PostSteelers take:
Stephon Tuitt
School: Notre Dame
Position: DT
Positive: Full-time starter the past two seasons who posted a career-best 50 tackles last season after 13 tackles for loss and 12 sacks as a sophomore 2012. Tall, relatively athletic defensive line prospect who flashed ability. Effective when he plays with good pad level. Displays terrific quickness and the ability to bend off the edge on occasion. Gets his hands up to protect himself. Displays power in his lower body and the ability to push blockers up the field. Better than average movement skills. Easily changes direction and slides down the line of scrimmage to make plays.
Negative: All too often gets tall and does not consistently play with leverage. Easily knocked from his angle of attack by a single blocker or controlled at the point by tight ends. Slow locating the ball.
Analysis: Tuitt is a serviceable prospect whose reputation exceeds his ability. He's an up and down prospect who'll look dominant then pedestrian in the same series. He offers the size and athleticism necessary to develop into a productive NFL prospect but also comes with big bust potential.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Trent Murphy
School: Stanford
Position: DE
Positive: Three-year starter named to numerous all-America teams since his junior campaign. Totals last season included 62 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks. Also recorded one interception and 6 PBUs. Junior totals included 18 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Hard-charging college linebacker expected to transition to defensive end at the next level. Plays with good lean. Fires off the snap and fast off the edge rushing the passer. Resilient, stays with the action, and is rarely knocked off his feet. Works his hands throughout the play. Constantly focused on by opponents, but a disruptive force who's tough to stop. Flashes lower-body power and needs to be double-teamed. Quick in a straight-line or chasing the action laterally. Flashes ability in space and nicely redirects to the action.
Negative: Lacks size and outpositioned by opponents. Average speed and minimally effective in pursuit.
Analysis: Murphy is a competitive, relentless defender with terrific instincts and toughness. He finds ways to make plays and will be an asset at the next level as a 4-3 defensive end who occasionally stands up over tackle.I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen
