  • Raiders Fire Dennis Allen

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ed-by-raiders/

Early firing, but the Raiders really sucked.

McKenzie needs to do well with his next coach, or he will be out as well.

This was predictable with Raiders heading into bye week. Tony Sporano probably takes over .

In the wake of the firing of head coach Dennis Allen Monday night, one of the most logical choices for an interim replacement was assistant head coach and offensive line coach Tony Sparano.

      Perhaps not. Who wants it?

Tough to fire your coach this early. There is now one out there right now at the beginning of the year. Who would want that job?
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I hear Brady Hoke might be available soon.

Is Dennis Allen a good DC? Might be a candidate for our vacancy in the offseason.

Ian Rapaport speculating that Jon Gruden would be Raiders first choice as permanent coach once season is over. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...raiders-search

So all that bashing of the AP reporter was off base after all. I suspect he knew something, realized he let the cat out of the bag and retracted to protect his source.

Good god they give him crap, everyone knew they would suck this year, and still fired him?

Reggie M appears to be the weakest branch of TT's GM tree.

He had an uphill battle getting rid of all the bad Al Davis contracts, but his acquisitions don't appear to be prizes.

McKenzie seemed to veer from TT's battle plan and dipped in FA in a foolish manner.

Charlie Weis is available Reggie, why not go down in flames with a super bad hire?

It sure doesn't look as though RM picked up on TT's Stay The Course and develop from within philosophy, does it?

TT was a little more flexible early with Woodson and Pickett added, after the bad contracts were cleared. TT at least had all his draft choices to work with. RM was screwed with poor talent, bad contracts and missing a bunch of draft picks from bad trades. Now is the time that not having a #1 in 2011 and #1 & #2 in 2012 is really coming back to bite them.

RM hasn't helped himself by making bad choices with what he did have to work with, so he is clearly on thin ice.

The Carson Palmer trade jumps out as a lame move on Reggie's part. It seemed that then HC Hue Jackson had a big influence on that trade, but it's still up to the GM to pull the trigger. Reggie was the captain of the ship that hit the sand bar on that deal.

That wasn't Reggie's deal. That deal was made in 2011. McKenzie wasn't hired as GM until January 2012. That deal was mostly Hue Jackson's deal who was the de facto GM at the time.

                              Yer right, OH Mailman.

He's only been there since 2012, but he's had his share of screw-ups since then.

Let's start with the Matt twins at QB. Flynn and Schaub, 14 mil or so right down the dumper on that pair.

Reggie's got to rally or he'll be toast soon, like the off season.
