  • Jamon Meredith Happy to be Back in Green Bay

    JSO Blog posting:

    http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/282476271.html

He remained a Packer fan even at other places:

"It felt good when I was a rookie and it feels good now," Meredith said of being in Green Bay. "This is a great organization. I've always been secretly rooting for the Packers in the back of my mind because they gave me the first opportunity in the NFL.

"To come back and sign me, it's almost full circle. I'm very excited about this opportunity to come back."

He'll need a ticket to see the game. Meredith released by Packers. TE Justin Perillo activated off of practice squad.
    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

lol I think? Bostick getting hurt and being unavailable for this week-end was probably a big part of him being sent packing. I wonder how he looked this week, they might ask him to hang around town for a bit.

In other news, happy to see Perillo promoted. He looked good in TC, and I'm a little surprised he lasted this long on the practice squad. Where is Lyerla these days? Going to go looking...

edit: nothing since the September arrest.

Lyerla is done. He just doesn't have nearly the brain for such a public life. He hardly has a brain suitable for private life, really.

If Perillo does anything at all, they should just cut Bostick and bring back Meredith.

Has it spread to me merely starting a thread about a guy?? Man, I better not start one about Packer QBs (although I already did about Tolzien)!

Apparently my curse has been broken. Meredith's career continues just as it has always been. Never on the street very long. Now he is a Bengal:

... and now he has been signed by the Titans.

This is really something. He never seems to last anywhere more than a few weeks; but also never is on the street for more than a week before signing again.

They all bring him in and let him scratch paper, tho.

Word was in Cincy he lasted two practices.

There just ain't any FA OT's floating around.
