  • How does this defense hold the Patriots down, make timely, big plays, hold the Flaycons to 7 in the first half and then totally shit the bed? This isn't rhetorical, I missed the entire second half.

    WTF, over?

    • Not Pretty. Glad they won, I had my doubts. Falcons were rolling in the 2nd half.

      • The three dropped interceptions really hurt tonight. Gotta take the gifts from Matty when you get them. You know he'll throw a few your way every game. House, Guion, and Tramon all put two hands on passes that weren't caught. In Williams' case, the ball was not contested... Just a flat drop.

            • Understandable, but not acceptable that the Pack would take the foot off the gas pedal a bit, but what is unforgivable is not adjusting coverage to take Jones away. just absurd. house made some tremendous plays, but they should have shifted help. I would have liked to see Dix sneak up and blow Julio up at the line at least once. Crazy, stupid Capers. That's not going to cut it.

                    • It seems so long ago I heard the announcers talking about the "much improved" Green Bay Packers defense. Turns out to be same -shit-different-day. They better pray Rodgers keeps playing lights-out the rest of the way because this defense ain't cuttin' the mustard.

                      • 5 Atlanta drives in 2nd half. 4 TDs, 1 FG

Road Runner, that's been the issue in these seasons of offensive glory and gaudy numbers. The Packers get to the playoffs and play the best defenses who can rush well enough with 4 and cover well enough with the rest, and when the offense gets contained, the defense has not carried the day, pretty much ever. Who knew that a 24 point lead at half almost wasn't enough?

The only good thing to come out of this is that they won, and that crappy second half defensive effort didn't lose the game for them. Atlanta ran out of time. Time to get in the film room and correct the many mistakes. The defense is capable of much better than that. For Atlanta having a patch-work offensive line, the Packer defense sure didn't move Ryan around very much. That didn't help the coverage team, who also had communication and coverage issues of their own.

This. Jones just humiliated the D...Capers kept throwing the kitchen sink at Matty and they never got there.

I hear you Carolina, but this is game 13 and if that cluster hasn't been cleared up by now, I've lost all hope it's going to magically get straightened out in the next 3 games. From what I watched, the only 2 threats Atl had tonight were Matty and Julio. Either the rush has to get to Ryan or rotate help towards Jones. Clinton-Dix was always late getting to Jones most of the night.

when a hurry-up offense gets in rhythm, the pass rush will tire as the game goes on
