That was one bizarre rush. I remember seeing that play and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It worked so therefore it was genius.

Is that the hip shake, babe?

Crazy if the QB is mobile, but has possibilities against one that isn't a running threat. Still if the LT/LG block it right and the RB picks up his man there should be a good opportunity for the QB to step up and hit a pass, especially over the middle for 4+ yards. I'm guessing Pittsburgh hadn't seen this look on tape before leading to pressure too quick to do anything. In that vein, I hope Capers has several unscouted plays ready to go on Sunday that, even if they have flaws, will put Romo on is ass.

The obvious response would be to audible to a run right behind the center or in one of the gaps to either side of the center. A quick screen pitch to the running back would accomplish the same thing.

That was Tanier's point. Tomlin and Haley kept running RBs out there like there was a plan (they freely substituted all 3 all game), but they were not going to use them in key situations at all. So 3rd and 4 was going to be a pass, come hell or high water.

This has been a criticism of both Tomlin (before Haley) and Haley, that if their preferred starting RB or a vet is not available, you can safely ignore the run. Especially if its a young RB. Their wunderkind RB Bell had to prove himself last year while sharing the job and not getting a lot of crucial carries (also because the run game last year was awful).
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
