Both BSPN and NFLN last night mentioned the Cowboys haven't been in a playoff game in GB since the Ice Bowl in 1967 so it already has begun.

Dang! That was nearly 50 years ago and I remember it like it was last year (which, of course, makes it better than my memory of last week, which is better than my memory of this morning!)

Actually when the Cowboys visited the Packers in 1997, I recall there being Ice Bowl II talk, which was ridiculous because the temperature at game time was 23 with a wind chill of 9. Packers destroyed them 45-17 as Favre threw for 4 TD's and Dorsey Levens ran for 190 yards. http://www.pro-football-reference.co...9711230gnb.htm I remember late in the game the TV cameras showing a dejected Cowboys defensive line on the sideline. John Madden remarked "The Cowboys defensive line is a whipped group!"

Was that the game Favre gift wrapped an Pick-6 for Deion?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I don't remember the play, but Deion did have a 50 yard INT for a TD.

Yeah, Favre was laughing about it and Deion just walked into the end zone.

That was a fun game because Dallas had gotten off to a crappy start and was just starting to come around when they rolled into GB. When a reporter told Michael Irvin that the Packer fans had been clamoring to get the Cowboys in Lambeau he said something to the effect that they ought to watch out what they wish for. The first half was basically a draw, so until the 3rd quarter it looked like Irvin might have known what he was talking about. Then the GB OL just took over in the second half.

                        A regular season game.

The last time Dallas was in Green Bay for a playoff game was Sunday, December 31, 1967 and ... on Sunday Jan. 11, 2015 ... 48 Years and 11 days ago.

I remember watching Bart Starr rush for the game winning TD and my face being about 2 feet from the TV. What a shout came out of me.:

                        THE ICE BOWL.

FINAL SCORE: Green Bay 21 - Dallas 17.

This will make you happy for the Ice Bowl II hype. A nice Joe Browne (NFL Exec) "I was at the Ice Bowl story" (he was) but far, far better is the story Chuck Mercein told him about Johnny Blood McNally.

Mercein finished his coffee that day but still was not convinced until I told him about a guy I had noticed in the media crowd outside the winning Packers locker-room.
“Famous New York columnists like Jimmy Cannon, Milton Gross, Hy Goldberg were on line waiting to get inside the warm locker room area ,” I said. “ I also noticed someone who was holding up the wall but who may already have had a few shots of liquid warmth like many in the sub-zero stadium had. I asked one of the security guards who he was: ‘That’s the great Johnny Blood, sir.”
                          ———————————
                          Mercein suddenly looked up.
“I’m starting to believe you were really there,” he said. “I remember I was one of the last ones in the showers that day trying to scrape off the frost bite and a guy came marching into the showers, fully clothed and demanded to know in a loud voice “Which one of you is Bart Starr. I want to congratulate that son of gun.’ While I was trying to figure out how this crazed fan got into our shower area, a naked Jerry Kramer said “Johnny Blood. Get out of the showers before you drown.”
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
