I got news for him. The Drive and Red Right 88 were worse.Originally posted by mraynrand View PostFYI - Cleveland sports radio guys unanimously agreed that the Packer loss was worse than any single playoff loss suffered by the Browns. Worse than "The Drive," worse than "The Fumble." Worse than "Red Right 88." They were quick to add that because GB has had so much sustained success, GB has nothing to complain about - Cleveland still has exclusive rights for weeping and gnashing of teeth over tragic playoff futility.
The Fumble gets a lot of play, but the Browns were behind all game after an awful first half. If Byner scores, its tied in a game neither team had played stellar defense.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

only if you are a Browns fan. RR88 wasn't even a championship game. The Drive was brutal, but it didn't come close to the collapse GB suffered. I'm not saying this, this is the view of unobjective (from the Cleveland view point) radio guys.Originally posted by pbmax View PostI got news for him. The Drive and Red Right 88 were worse.
(edit: Also, they argued that you have to take yourself out of the context of accumulating bad playoff losses and accumulating years of no championships to evaluate an isolated, single game, tragedy. In the totality of the Cleveland experience, GB can't come close - thank God!)"Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck
