  • Schneider hints at outside-the-box approach to (Russell) Wilson contract

With Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson now eligible for a second contract and the team apparently willing to rectify a wage-scale situation that has left him grossly underpaid, the challenge becomes finding a way to pay him enough without making it harder to put a team on the field around him.

Can we just have a perma-link at the top of the site to PFT instead of an entire thread for every new semi-interesting post?

The thread bloat gets old sometimes when I realize I've already read it on PFT.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

Alternatively, instead of just linking to other sites, perhaps SOMEONE (wood buck) could discriminate and only post when they have some commentary that MIGHT make bringing the link here interesting.

although, this time of year, woody and his cut and paste posts are about the only thing keeping this place going

Ok, I'll bite, and change the direction of this thread by posting some insightful commentary

Pretty sure this is weasel-speak for "he's not all that, he showed it for a lot of last season, and we're not paying him top dollar he is expecting just because the team made the SB 2 years in a row"

His contract will be sponsored by American Family.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

This forum is all about you!?

Since your on top of everything coming out of PFT.Com:

Do You want to post what you think is valid as interesting here Smidgeon? You handle it and then you won't be criticizing 'YOU'!

Not every member has the time to look at this stuff as much as I dedicate myself to. I try to get stuff on here to keep it interesting and /or stimulated. I spend countless hours endeavouring to be on top of it.

Getting to the heart of your issue and some suggestions.

If a thread topic bores you simply ignore it. Alternatively ...if your already on top of it won't your commentary be valued here?

I try to keep up with many football sites and post here 'only' what I at least imagine may make this place more interesting for the members.

Canvas the management for me to get a pay cut !

Look at my threads on this page mraynrand.

Count those that are without commentary. Your not going to find many without some form of commentary.

I'm going to fall short of any massive analysis and elaboration.

If we judged by replies and comments the only person who could start a thread would be Mobb because he started the Favre thread.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

                        Commentary:

I'm interested in what Seattle GM John Schneider does with regards to Russell Wilson and more in terms of maintaining a healthy team CAP. From the title of this article it appears that Seattle GM John Schneider is 'going to be creative and Russell Wilson work with him', in terms of his remuneration. How this is going to be wrapped up is interesting and may be trend setting.

Many here at Packerrats have expressed that once the Seahawks have to pay their QB what's deemed by both sides as due, following his Rookie contract ($750 K$/Year); that will put a pinch on CAP money available to retain other key elements on this top contending team. As a result of all that... Seattle and Green Bay will be oper on a more equal playing field in terms related to total team operation.

Your likely aware that Seattle has made a richer offer to their star RB Marshawn Lynch (28 Yrs old) in an attempt to keep him in place beyond 2015 or possibly for the rest of his career.

The Seahawks have secured key pieces already (Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Kam Chancellor, K.J. Wright, Max Unger, Doug Baldwin, Paul Richardson Justin Britt) but other important pieces to complete their puzzle are a concern. ie ILB Bobby Wagoner and CB Byron Maxwell.

Here's a little more on this from the ESPN perspective ( specifically the Marshawn Lynch concerns and how Russell Wilson may desire to put team first in his contract negotiations ).
