Also, iirc, many of the reports on Hawk at the time indicated he was NFL ready, which was true, his rookie year was pretty good.

Also, Iirc, a lot of teams liked him and would have taken him, given the chance.

That's what he would do any year.

it's actually not completely true to say that Hawk never played middle linebacker because when Barnett was injured they did occasionally put Hawk in the middle. I thought that was where he played the best honestly.

What about the timing of this? Did he have any money that he was going to earn in the next little while or have a guarantee that activated? I don't think so. I guess they decided his time was up with the team and didn't even want him around in camp.

Ted don't need no stinkin draft.

Packers sign Indoor Football League's Josh Francis, ILB.

I've taken a break fr. Winter and not up to date. I learned yesterday that Hawk was released.
The first ? that came to mind...... Brad Jones? I felt releasing him was important for the immediate future.

Free Agents available and not in any order:

David Harris NY Jets ...v. solid yet aging and likely costly. he might sign with the Pack as it's a huge change fr. NY and the Jets LOL. Part of a two year program window for the right cost.

                    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Spikes

Brandon Spikes (Buffalo Bills) Good Vs the Rush and he hit hard (intimidation). The cost should be good for TT but will he get away from Buffalo? I loved him as a Patriot

Rolondo McClain (Dallas Boys) Has had some personal issues that may exclude him (RISK);a past with injuries but he was solid last season...

Rey Maualuga (NY Jets) ... Will TT like his upside? and he should be affordable.

Mason Foster Tampa Bay BUC's ... I like this guy if he can fit into *^&??1? Dom Capers %&^@!?#! 3-4 'whatever it is 'D' ?

OK I have to finally get this off my chest hahaha ... because of all things in NFCC 2014-15 this is my worst complaint.

Damn I'll hopefully not forget the way Seattle street slapped the Packers on the 1st and 10 play that never gave Aaron Rodgers and the Packers Aaron Rodgers led 'O' [/B] a fricken chance. How that never got him FIRED I'll never know?? I play Texas Hold'Em and I'm positive if Dom Capers was sitting at my five table his $$$$$$ would be mine.

A Stupid silly untrustworthy man (without a check on his loser nonsence) until just maybe Mike McCarthy gets to doing his job of managing. As Bill Belichick often says...Mike McCarthy 'just do your job' and toughen the hell up.

TT will get try to get help at ILB in FA if the right fit is there in FA and after that it's the Draft.

                    Isn't the 4-3 D the best option? :

They saved a million. His contract this year had an 800,000 roster bonus and 250,000 workout bonus.

I like how Francis never gives up on plays, but still doesn't throw interceptions.

Shaq Thompson, Denzel Perryman and Eric Kendricks have the same size (Perryman is 236 lbs and an inch shorter) and similar measurables.

Benardrick McKinney is 6'4" 246 lbs. McKinney ran a 4.66 at the combine but looks slower on the field than the other three.

On the other hand, Paul Dawson is 6'0" 235 lbs and ran like a brick (4.93).

It would surprise me if TT drafted Dawson, but he's surprised me before.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.
