I wonder if Slocum just wanted to plan out his retirement and come on down to AZ early. This way when he gets fired in a few years he's already got his home and friends, etc. here.

Edit: I just clinked the link and glanced at the article. It appears they conveniently left out that Slocum was fired by the Packers.
