The big Ragin Cajun Alonzo Harris RB out of the pistol formation looks interesting. Nifty (haven't used that word in a few decades) feet and good size. Carries a load.

Vigilante too so he's got that going for him.

      Tavarus Dantzler
      School=Bethune-Cookman
      6'2, 237 lbs.
      40 Yd. Dash=4.56 (Combine)
      40 Yd. Dash=4.66 (Pro Day)
      20 Yd. Dash=2.65 (Pro Day)
      10 Yd. Dash=1.57 (Pro Day)
225 lb. Bench Press=21 (Pro Day)
      Vertical Jump=35 1/2 (Pro Day)
      Broad Jump=10'01" (Pro Day)
      20 Yd. Shuttle=4.53 (Pro Day)
      3-Cone Drill=7.25 (Pro Day)

      Compared to...

      Mystery Player
      School=?
      6'1, 237 lbs.
40 Yd. Dash=4.58 (Combine, listed as not official)
      40 Yd. Dash=4.38 (Pro Day)
      20 Yd. Dash=2.58 (Pro Day)
      10 Yd. Dash=1.56 (Pro Day)
      225 lb. Bench Press=25 (Combine)
      Vertical Jump=42 (Combine)
      Broad Jump=10'10" (Combine)
      20 Yd. Shuttle=4.21 (Combine)
      3-Cone Drill=6.91 (Combine)

Can you name the mystery player? I'll give you a couple of hints. He was drafted last year and at the time was also listed as an OLB.

I had to use results of both combine and pro days to make the comparison.

Dantzler looks more explosive on film that he tests.
Mystery guy isn't Shazier is it? Good explosion and agility there.

That Dantzler vid made me giggle. A real man among boys. He's got the attitude for the inside. Does his skill set translate?

Give that man a cigar! The mystery player is Ryan Shazier. Could Dantzler be a poor man's Shazier? Hey, I know some of Shazier's numbers dwarf Dantzler's, but Shazier was also a top 20 pick in the draft. That being said, some of the numbers are similar enough to draw some comparison. IF (put that in big red letters) Dantzler can make it through training camp and and make an good impression, and should he be able to make the team and contribute, then you gotta give it up to TT and the scouting dept.

6'0" 217, 4.62 40, 4.25 shuttle, 7.15 3 cone, 40" vertical, 10'5" broad, 15 bench. The speed rating (40 + shuttle + 3 cone) is slightly below average (but not terrible for a bigger back), the explosion (vertical + broad jump) is 3rd among 26 RBs that I have numbers for. Only Ameer Abdullah and David Johnson scored higher.

Thanks, Harv. That's good stuff. I'll be pulling for Taz. You never know what might happen.

+1. Good segment on him. Kid's got heart. All four of the UDFA RB's are interesting.

I think he starts out back at OLB. But he is plan B if one of the youngsters doesn't step up. The best bet would be another mid-season switcheroo. If the D is playing terribly inside again, its easier to see him as the savior than the replacement.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

not to be outdone, here's Larry Pinkard - 6'1 200
This sounds kind of naive, but a bunch of these UDFA's look real interesting...

Me too. I was visualizing him blowing up Matt Forte runs like he was doing in the video.
