  • What "first" for TT occured in the 2015 draft?

The 2015 draft defined a "first" for TT. What was it?

Is it that he drafted 1st and 2nd at the same position (DB)?

The only other time they drafted back to back DB (safety) was in 2005 with Nick Collins and Marviel Underwood, but of course A-Rod was the 1st round pick.

They had not done this since 1999 when they chose Antuan Edwards and Fred Vinson (ouch) but of course that was under Ron Wolf with TT as his minion.

      Not drafting any OL.

Not the one I was thinking of, but true.

That's the one I was thinking of. He has always drafted at least one OL, most years he has drafted at least two.

          2005 - Coston, Whitticker
          2006 - Colledge, Spitz, Moll
          2007 - Barbre
          2008 - Sitton, Giacomini
          2009 - Lang, Meredith
          2010 - Bulaga, Newhouse
          2011 - Sherrod, Schlauderaff
          2012 - Datko
          2013 - Bahktiari, Tretter
          2014 - Linsley

          2015 - None

I think it's the first year he didn't have a 7th round pick. Was going to say the first year he ended the day with less picks than he started it, but that has happened before.

edit: I see there was something else you were thinking of

Sherrod is regrettable, for sure. The others were 5th, 6th and 7th round draft picks, and the 5th round pick (Newhouse) filled a huge hole for them for two years. That wasn't a waste, in my opinion. Schlauderaff was traded for a 7th round pick, so they got some return from him as well. I look at Datko as a good risk. This was a guy who had a possible first round grade going into his senior year, which was lost due to a shoulder issue. Using a compensatory 7th round pick (#241) on him was a good risk.

Pretty sure he didn't trade back the year he drafted Mathews - he traded up to get him, did he make any other trades that year?

It was just a gut reaction, Patler.

I don't think they traded back in 2010, did they? I think he had only one trade that year, trading up for Burnett.
