  • Jeff Janis

I heard a radio interview with Cobb yesterday. He mentioned Janis as a guy who looks like he has made a big step forward. Reporter asked if Janis was the fastest WR on the team. Cobbs reply:"Oh ya, he is FAST. Fastest we have at WR."

MM mentioned him. One of the assistants said he was ready to play at the end of last season, but they didn't need him with the way they were using guys at receiving positions, and there was no reason to change.

The hype is building before his eventual release in August! (Actually, I think he stays.)

Been a huge fan of this kid since we drafted him. A lot of people think he and Abby will be battling for the last WR spot but I dont think it will be close.

Tons of talent at that position. It'll be fun watching/reading who's doing what in TC.

Me too. In addition to the unusual physical gifts, the guy was extremely productive at the level he was at, and showed commitment by what he did in the weight room in college. Still a huge jump for him to the NFL, but he is a guy I am anxious to watch. I liked Charles Johnson the year before for some of the same reasons, but Janis didn't have the "baggage" that Johnson seemed he might have.

With the drafting of Ty Montgomery in the third round, and given his return abilities, I think it's Abby vs. Janis for the 5th WR spot, but both will not be kept. They can try and stash Abby on the practice squad, but we'll see.

That would be the best scenario, I think we could stash on him PS without a problem with him coming off an ACL injury and his small stature.

It will depend upon how many WRs we decide to keep on the active roster. If either player shows anything in preseason I doubt we can sneak them on the PS without another team pilfering them away.

6-3 220 and the fastest WR on the roster? Wow a faster Jordy would be sweet, you know that CBs in the NFL never think that white guys can run.

I haven't been this excited about an unheraled, young WR prospect since Jeff Query.

                    Or Billy Schroeder.

How soon we forget the sweet innocent flirtations of August when all Rats' thoughts turned to Kevin Dorsey.

                        Or was it Keith?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.
