Flynn is a Brady insurance policy.Originally posted by pbmax View PostBelichick could have picked him up three other times if he wanted to know the offense. He could have signed Graham Harrell for a membership to the Jam of the Month Club.
Its the Brady's inflated sense of entitlement that brought this about.
Flynn will be in the NE camp. He will get cut on the last cut because NE doesn't want to have to guarantee his contract. They will let Jimmy Garoppolo play week 1 and if he flounders Flynn will be picked back up by NE. When Brady comes back from his suspension Flynn will be cut again. But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

NFL players can only get one guaranteed contract per career. Flynn already used his in either Oakland or Seattle. So the "on the roster first game" doesn't apply to him.Originally posted by ThunderDan View PostFlynn is a Brady insurance policy.

fucking really? I thought that applied to veterans universally, but I found an (old) article saying it's treated as a one-time 'separation pay'. It pre-dates the current CBA.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostNFL players can only get one guaranteed contract per career. Flynn already used his in either Oakland or Seattle. Every year at this time, we begin to eyeball NFL rosters for veteran players who could be cut due to the reality that, if they are on any team as of Week One, their full base salaries become, as a practical matter, guaranteed.
Anyone know if this changed?--
Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...

I don't think it changed. I read an article (I think ESPN) mentioning Flynn wasn't eligible relating specifically to the Patriots. I might be wrong with the source.Originally posted by Guiness View Postfucking really? Had to have been Oakland. Seattle traded him in the off season to Oakland.
