You've never heard the term country dumb? It means a kid that maybe didn't get the proper learnin' in school, but he's smart in the ways of the world. I always think of those folks as smart at the few things they really like, but they aren't book smart. My Grandpa was a farmer. He didn't have an education beyond 6th grade, but he knew more about stuff (real-life stuff) then I'll ever know.
While I hear what you're saying, this shouldn't be the case with Young. He was in college (as an athlete-student, of course) and had an opportunity to do some learning.

He took the test 3 times? I thought it was only 2. Either way, mark me down as someone who thinks he won't succeed in the NFL as a QB. He might have some short term success at the pos'n like other run first guys Vick or K. Stewart, but I can't see it last. Until he proves he can do it with his arm first, I'm not a believer.

I wonder if there is thinking in ANY circles of his becoming a WR? Damn, I think he'd make a great one.

Brett Favre scored 22. One longtime scout said Terry Bradshaw, Jim Kelly and Dan Marino all scored 15. Marino was rumored to have scored a 13 the first time he took the test. Randall Cunningham scored 15.

Vince Young was reported to have scored a 16 the second time he took it. I think the test takes some people by surprise because they don't realize how little time they have to take it.

Interesting that LaDainian Tomlinson scored a 13--although he plays a position where smarts aren't that important. Javon Walker scored like a 7 or 8 on it.

That's pretty funny. I remember getting into arguments over him, and I always said he had a million dollar arm, and a 10 cent brain. I guess I was right!

Mac was a WR & a punter and went to Harvard. He's easily one of the smartest people I've ever met. He's worth a 100 million or so, all self made money.

The Bengals have both ends of the Wonderlic Spectrum.
S Ricky Dixon allegedly scored a 2, supposedly the lowest recorded score.

Ricky Dixon got a 2? Don't you get a couple of points just for knowing your own name?
Also, didn't Ricky Dixon find his way into Green Bay as a Plan B free agent or something back in the late 1980s-early 1990s? Or maybe I'm hallucinating.
I have taken an online version of the Wonderlic a couple of times, scoring a 29 and a 33. Sadly, as I have no athletic skills, I will not be considered by any GMs in the upcoming draft.
