It sounds like, from what I've read, Barclay, Janis, and Alonzo Harris all had problems that might reflect larger issues - pass pro, route-running, and lack of sure-handed ness.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostI didn't see the game. I'm not sure when the Pack gets back to practice, but I'd bet that Barclay is not backing up the LT spot.Originally posted by pbmax View PostBarclay, at least his chance of being the backup at left tackle.
The way he played, I'm not sure he makes the 53. He was beyond brutal and I've only watched the 1st half so far, trying my best to key in on his play. Somethings not right with him.

I think they still trust him at RT unless they are grading his summer more harshly than reporters.Originally posted by pittstang5 View PostI'm not sure when the Pack gets back to practice, but I'd bet that Barclay is not backing up the LT spot.

But I would be stunned if someone (Walker) doesn't get LT reps versus at least the 2s through the next preseason game. It was pretty ugly. Though Walker himself was the 9th OL that went into the game (Barclay at LT for Bach, Taylor for Sitton, Gerhart for Lang).Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Not only did Barclay give up the hit that resulted in a safety/injury to Rodgers, he gave up the hit that gave Tolzien a concussion. Hard for a LT to have a worse day. This is a bigger problem right now than losing Jordy.I can't run no more

Josh Walker held up pretty well at both tackle spots, though I would be concerned if he were facing an elite speed rusher.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostNot only did Barclay give up the hit that resulted in a safety/injury to Rodgers, he gave up the hit that gave Tolzien a concussion. Brandon Graham of the Eagles Saturday. A very good, if not elite, player.Originally posted by vince View PostJosh Walker held up pretty well at both tackle spots, though I would be concerned if he were facing an elite speed rusher.I can't run no more

I don't think that has anything to do with their standing. I think they were hoping Barclay would start showing signs that he could get back to his previous form and wanted to give him a long look at LT. I think they wanted to get Walker mostly work at RT to see if he can play there, so when Sitton sat early and Lang went out with a concussion, Taylor and Gerhart subbed for them.Originally posted by pbmax View PostI think they still trust him at RT unless they are grading his summer more harshly than reporters.

Walker had been at Guard for a lot of camp. I think he and Barclay were getting tryouts for a backup tackle job. Barclay got first go at LT, which, whatever the internal grading is on each guy, is consistent for M3 and his O line. The vet got the first chance to fill in.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostI don't think that has anything to do with their standing. But I am not sure its the same backup tackle job. Barclay could still make this team as the backup RT and Guard, though that begs the question of who backs up at LT. And the answer is probably Bulaga before its Walker, unless he just soars in the two remaining games.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Bears DT Jeremiah Ratliff suspended 3 games. It stems from a 2013 DUI. He pleaded guilty earlier this year.

Terrell Suggs was flagged for a hit to the knees of Sam Bradford. NFL now says the hit was legal because it was a zone read play. Eagles say it was a penalty because it wasn't a zone read play, but just a handoff out of the shotgun. I think the NFL is going to have a problem if their weekend employees (Officials) are expected to knpw that much about offensive formations. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...t-on-zone-readI can't run no more

If its a one handed handoff, passer rules apply. If you stick two hands in there, then option rules apply. Bradford used two hands. Hit was legal.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

It was a legal hit, and the NFL already said so. The refs are supposed to use discretion to determine when the option QB has removed himself from the play. Bradford hadn't definitively done that, so chock it up to an officiating error.
