  • Who's the MVP (Most Vulnerable Packers)?

Okay, once jones and then Guion get back, whose ass is most likely to get cut?

    Boyd? Gaston? Richardson? Banjo? Goodson?

Has to be someone on the DL. With Guion and Jones coming back, someone from that group has to go. Boyd or Gaston, I'm going to go with Gaston, because I never saw him lining up with 1's during the preseason, I think I saw Boyd out there at least once. I think Pennel is safer than either of them.

Question though, is Guin pretty much guaranteed to be kept when he comes off suspension???

It's someone on the DL or a DB. It's someone wIth marginal upside. It's someone that has low or questionable importance at their position. It's someone that will not really be a contributor on special teams.

With all that said, I still cannot tell whether it's Banjo or Goodson...

Well, there has to be two let go if Jones and Guion are welcomed back. You would expect one from the DL (Boyd or Gaston), and probably one DB, were they seem to be heavy in #s. I would expect the vulnerable DBs to be Goodson because he can't stay healthy, and Banjo, if Hyde isn't moved to IR. They will have three games for Boyd and Gaston to impress the coaches, to evaluate the progress of the rookie DBs, to see if Richardson gets out of his funk, and to experience a season ending injury for a starter, thus predetermining who is replaced.

If Goodson gets healthy and is playing, it will probably be Banjo who is cut. If Goodson remains hit and miss on availability, I expect they will IR him.

I would think this forum is ready to run Harris out of town.

Isn't it likely that we'll have enough injuries to open slots for the return of the suspended guys? This is kinda like having a slush fund.

Dude really gets some nice penetration and makes plays others do not. I think they want him back asap
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Yes, Guion is close to a guarantee for a spot. He's the best big end they have for the base D. And overall he is behind just Daniels at end.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Injury, Boyd, Banjo, Goodson, Gaston, Taylor/Walker/Barclay

Numbers game suggests DB, Dline (after Jones), Oline

I hope it's Richardson. I liked the guy and had hopes, but he seems to have topped out as an unreliable back-end safety whose greatest assets were run support and ST. And in the preseason, he sucked on ST.

Goodson is still flashing upside, and Banjo is better on ST and is faster. At least he's got a chance to cover some ground if he has to play safety.

McCarthy said yesterday that Richardson graded our as the highest rated for special teams in the preseason. Not sure if he meant last year or if Richardson's play was skewed by one terrible tackle attempt.

Probably includes practices. Since most of us only see the games, our impressions could be very different from MM's.

I'm going to say Goodson and Lane Taylor. Banjo or Gaston would be my alternates.

Boyd I think is relatively safe just because he is so versatile. He's a workhorse who can eat up snaps at 5-tech, 3-tech, and NT. Richardson isn't going anywhere.
