  • A lesser known factor in Barclay making the team

    From the GBPG:

ยป In one of the less-publicized competitions of training camp, offensive lineman Don Barclay held off tight end Justin Perillo for the privilege of backing up long-snapper Brett Goode, who has played in 112 consecutive games since winning the job in 2008.

Ahhh, that might explain why Perillo was maintaining his gut.

Perillo had to be one hell of a tough cut. He's twice the special teamer that Backman is. Not saying the ghost of Brandon Bostick should inform every roster decision from now on but... nevermind it totally should.

P.S. 31 - On what do you base your assessment of the ST play of Perillo pad.

Well, now I will never be able to watch Backman without that tradeoff in my head.

Back in the day, a gaffe like that was called a "boner."

For the life of me I don't know why. Seems pretty deflating to me.

It's part of my therapy. Be patient with me.

Look, I've made progress. I changed my sig montage. Pretty soon, I'll forget Voldemort's name and be incapable of googling for that picture.

It was a beautiful day here, no clouds, sun shining, birds singing, and then it started to Rand...

Their respective molds but also performance. Blocking on the run in the return teams seem to be a strength for Perillo dating back to last season. I expected him to be a core guy on all 4 units.

Backman's a lot more athletic but I haven't seen the special teams value yet.

I see it as the same tradeoff we made in keeping Bostick over Ryan Taylor last year.

                            It wasn't enough to fumble.

                            He had to whiff.

The ball had to hit him in the noggin.

The Three Stooges couldn't design a set piece better. Maybe if Jordy had hit him with a board later.
