Just watched Vikings game. Bridgewater looks like an above average college QB.

My thoughts on Vikings vs. 49ers.
1) The 49ers are underrated. Still a lot of talent on that team. Did that team quit on Harbaugh last year?
2) Peterson looks pretty much the same. He was too anxious last night, looking for the home run ball, but he's going to be tough to play against.
3) Carlos Hyde looked phenomenal. Wish I had him on my fantasy football leagues.
4) The Vikings will be better than this, but if Bridgewater doesn't dramatically improve, they are no threat to the Packers. He looked terrible. Is it Teddy Ponder or Christian Bridgewater? He'll be better than that, but that's who he reminded me of last night."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Should be an interesting contest between the Lions and Vikings this week. The Lions let an eighteen point lead get away (though at least it wasn't in the NFC Championship game), and the Vikings' offensive line looks a bit of a mess.
Loser's in a hole, and the winner could conceivably be tied for first in the NFC North by Sunday night, though we hope not."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Talked with a Vikings fan here where I work. He thought Bridgewater looked like the second coming of Spergon Wynn. Or Matt Cassel. Or Tarvaris Jackson. With a little Jeff George skittishness thrown in."What's one more torpedo in a sinking ship?"

Getting to watch a Lions-Vikings game in the afternoon, then a Packer-Seattle game at night is a pretty good couch trip. The only thing I would change is move the night game to the afternoon. I like to have my warm milk at 9PM and be in bed by 9:30.Originally posted by Fritz View PostShould be an interesting contest between the Lions and Vikings this week.

Peterson looked fine. 49ers D was surprisingly strong. Kaepernick played well, he absorbed some pretty good hits in the running game but didn't seem to care.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostI didn't see the game. Is Peterson old now, rusty, or was the 49er defense decent?--

What that video shows is that as he gets older, Kaepernick isn't getting any smarter. He'll be lucky to finish the season healthy, and without him they're done.I can't run no more

Peterson showed strength on some plays, but didn't show the speed and ability to bounce off for long gains when the hole wasn't there. He should be respected, but not feared by DC's matching up against him.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostI didn't see the game. Is Peterson old now, rusty, or was the 49er defense decent?
The Vikings line did him (and Bridgewater) no favors at all.2025 Ratpickers champion.

Some of the stuff I heard was that Peterson was a tire fire as a blocker, so they were pulling him on passing downs...and Bridgewater had first game of the season jitters. I think they'll get better as the season goes on, but they could easily be 2-6 at the midseason mark. I think they're still a mystery...and until they get Sullivan back their line is gonna struggle. I also think you have to feed Peterson the ball more than 10 times to knock the rust off...If Lacy only got the ball 10 times in a loss we'd be howling.
