    ZOMBO!!

    No!
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Just checked the defensive box score, he's not on it so I assume those are 8-( not a 8 -) exclamation points.

Well that was quite the ending to the game...

It was just an excited Zombo sighting at the first line (ST). But then an unfortunate Zombo penalty followed immediately.

The hysterical thing about hiring Kubiak is that Peyton in his current form cannot run Kubes way too basic pass offense. His only chance is to run the Peyton offense, though he cannot throw deep to the sideline anymore. After they switched to it and played more shotgun (and 3 WR) Manning looked much better.

I've always viewed Kubiaks o as slow developing which is the exact opposite of mannings best strength right now

I think its evidence Elway doesn't understand his job any better than we do.

On the surface, run oriented Kubiak who can solidify an O and O line with a great running attack makes sense for aging Manning. Any of us could make that argument.

But Elway ignores Kubes mediocre results and gives him mediocre RBs and O line. Its also obvious the fall back position is Manning's offense, which fell apart at the end of last year after he got hurt versus SD.

He has had some home runs on the defensive side of the ball. Could Elways playing style interfere with finding the right ol for mannings playing style?

They definitely do have defense to spare it looks like. Though the Bronco D has looked unbeatable before only to prove to be a paper tiger under the last regime. Get a better idea by midseason.

But I do agree that is what Elway wanted to do. Take some pressure off Manning, put it on run game and D. He just doesn't have the horses to do it on O. And Kubiak without a dominant run game has not had a history of manufacturing offense from leftovers.

Boy, you get rid of the last 2 minutes of each half KC wins 24-3.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

After watching this game, neither KC or Den scare me this season.

                    Alex Smith is terrible.
I still see Peyton continuing a slow decline as the season moves on.

So the runaway pre-season paper champs in the AFC were the Bronco, how does that change after the first 2 weeks? How much can they do with a $16M (I think?) game manager QB? Kubiak and Elway need to reconsider the approach on O if they're going to get anywhere.

After the Patriots, who is there? Ravens were highly touted (anyone see the SI forecast issue?) but they looked bad, and the Colts certainly didn't play well. Too early to panic about either of them but after the opening week-end, the second seed in the AFC would be who? The Bengals???

I think that may over state Mannings decline. Unless his ability to read defenses and react to them is tied to arm strength.

No, but as was noted elsewhere, he's working with a new HC and OC who are installing a new offense. There was mention that they had taken away, or at least lessened his ability to call his own plays. That is one of Peyton's big strengths. Last night it seemed like in the last 5 minutes of each half the offense reverted back to what the Broncos were doing last year, away from a Kubiak style O, and that's when they were successful.

Oh well, the most interesting thing to me about this team is Wade Phillips, and what he's doing with Ware, Von Miller and Shane Ray.

Dolphins could be a threat if Tannehill continues to progress. They probably have the best defensive line in football and with that they can potentially neutralize the Bradys, Lucks and Rodgerses of the world.

Guiness I agree with that assessment 100%, the way I read your previous post gave me the understanding that you think Manning is only a manager at this point
