Disapproving whisper of Jim Gaffigan's person-on-the-street voice: "Did he just compare Eddie Lacy to a garbage truck in a sinkhole? That's not very nice."
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

They're saying Lacy is not injured. He is. R-E-L-A-X people. It's Eddie Lacy. He's a damn good running back and he'll be fine.

OJ Simpson is up around 260. It can happen to the best.

John Kuhn, Aaron Ripkowski, Alonzo Harris and Eddie Lacy in the same position group. Do you see anything wrong with this picture?

Penn State has a speedy freshman, Saquon Barkley, who looks like the next superstar. Why didn't TT sign him?

I hope James Starks' new-found fourth gear isn't a mirage. He runs so strong and fast.

I haven't seen the media making the case, I have seen and heard fans making the case. Media are getting bombarded with "what are you not telling us about Janis/Rodgers" questions routinely, just check their chats and Twitter feed. Its almost more numerous than Fire Capers.

That said, the media is more than happy to keep mentioning this obliquely, because everyone is dying to know why Janis doesn't play more.

In other words, this is mostly Maxie's doing.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

                    McGinn on Janis: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packe...334452891.html

After playing 47 snaps in his first 1 ½ seasons, Jeff Janis replaced injured Ty Montgomery (ankle) and logged 40. He broke off a deep route adeptly for 46 yards, and turned a shallow crosser against a botched coverage into 33 by turning on the jets. His small-school background wasn't the only reason a player of his size and speed fell far in the draft. His routes aren't refined, he lacks body control and his hands are average. Yet, the stunning advances Janis has made as a cover man on special teams leads one to believe he might develop as a receiver.
I would trust in the development of Janis more if that same description couldn't be used on Year 2 J. Bush.

I do not think it's body control and hands that are keeping Janis off the field.

Up until two weeks ago Lacy was averaging 4.6 yards/carry and playing well in the passing game. Starks was averaging 3.6 yards/carry and dropping passes. Now, all of a sudden Lacy's a fat, used up has been. It's Eddie Lacy. He'll rebound.

running backs lose it in an instant, don't they?

I agree. I think he doesn't know what's going on too often.

We need a interjection for this.

I think he is banged up and the weight, if it is indeed up, isn't helping.

But the Packers can't be too concerned, or they really did not plan to run much, because they deactivated Harris when they knew they wanted Starks to get extra carries.
