This conspiracy would be more entertaining if they hadn't already lost to the Bears and Lions at home and won versus the Vikes on the road.

Was play calling a problem in games 1-6? Did Clements get worse as the season wore on; or, did MM feel that Clements ignored his directive to incorporate the running game more?

He has had a play sheet in his hand since Game 3 I believe. I am not sure Clements was operating on his own since then.

I think the more important question is who put the plan together last week.

I'm just saying, if they win this one easily, as they should. Stubby comes out smelling like a rose. However if the offense looks as bad as it has or worse, does anyone call out stubby?

I hope Stubby calls "red right 88."

So you are saying Win-Good and Loss=Bad? I think we have seen that for 6 weeks.

But what your original post was actually hinting at, was that McCarthy was using a weak opponent to stage a triumphant comeback to playcalling. And as I said, had that been the idea, he has had many other opportunities.

He is running out of season to get the offense untracked.

Interesting choices for captains. on his show this week, MM mentioned that Goodson has been outstanding on STs for several weeks, and is attracting a lot of attention from blockers, freeing others to make tackles.

You are correct at what I was hinting at in my original post. But I also think he never really totally gave up the playcalling responsibilities. So will this really make much difference, or has he seen something in practice that makes him think the offense will play better from now on. Hence time to take credit for the play calling.

Last I checked, Stubby is kinda in charge of practices too.

Ultimately as the leader, he gets credit and takes blame. You can only deflect so much before:

As I said in the other thread, I think the construction of the game plan (and the no-huddle) are the important issues here. I actually am not sure the play caller is the issue. I think its the plan.

As Patler suggests, if M3 has taken over the planning, then I think the Offense might look appreciably different. If not, not sure it matters.

pbmax hit the nail on the head a while ago. Stubborness is Stubby's best and worst trait. LOL
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

Except Dallas has the 5th best ranked D in the league. He should have taken over against Chi or Det if he wanted to go against the scrubs and look good.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.
